Thought the only manual was the one on the screen, miss me with sitting there slowly trying to tap through everything ? I enjoy the forum more. Now I know I can find it online so that's great. :D

LOL I know what happened on my end, I took a picture of the side of the card that the other side of the pond uses - 7 numbers to unlock their door. And since the first day i got the car the photo is what I used as reference.

I just looked at the card from my safe and it does have another side with 5 numbers for North America which is the first five numbers of the other side too. LOL.

my bad.

Right. Put the PDF on every device you own.

Btw, there is a slot for the FOB in the center glovebox, but it’s not there for you to store your FOB. I believe it is for use by the dealer to program another FOB.

The slot in the center console is to operate the vehicle if the fob has a dead battery. Yes, it can be used to program a new fob if you have two other fobs (I just did this).

Dealers don't need to use that holder for making a new key, they have machines for that. An owner with two keyfobs can make a third one using it but its primary purpose is to allow the car to start using a fob with a dead battery.

I expect that the dealer doesn't know about "Phone as a key" at all, and they think that PaaK is what we're calling the Fordpass lock/unlock/remote start features on the phone.
Most new Fords have the ability to remote start their car with Fordpass, but do not allow the car to drive without the fob.
The mach-e has the ability to use the phone instead of the fob.

In my year+ of ownership I have only used the fob when other people are driving my car (service/valet).

Related question on where to stash a faraday bag: I never carry a fob and always use PAAK and I use the door code/remote start functionality if my phone is dead or if I don't want to bring it. I also use an Apple Watch w/ cellular so I often don't want to lug the phone just to start the car. However, two days ago and for no reason, my car was removed from Ford Pass and I lost PAAK and the remote start code; I was stranded (ok at home but it could have been a lot worse). The door code held but it took a full day to reauthorize the car into Ford Pass and get PAAK working again. I can no longer rely on that PAAK & Remote code will always be available to me. Where are a few good places to stash the key fob in a faraday bag? ?

So, is it okay to carry both PAAK and fob at same time? You do not have to worry about any sort of interference issues?

If you were trying the factory code that came with the car and has 7 numbers Just try the first 5 numbers. See if that works.
The card with the factory code should be printed on 2 sides. The 7 digit code for Europe on one side and 5 digit for North America on the other. I’ve never bothered to check if the first 5 digits of the European code match the NA code.

Yes if the phone dies you can use the backup codes. The frunk doesn't have a "lock" perse (at least I don't think). It's just a double release. You can only open it using PaaK, door code + 7-8, or the release within the cabin.
I didn't see this addressed: let's say you don't have a FOB and your phone is dead but you can get into the car. How would you be able to drive it if the car won't recognize a dead phone? Is there a way for the car to charge the phone when the car isn't on, even slightly, so that the phone gets enough "juice" to allow it to function as PAAK?

There is a backup code they have you set up for this exact situation. Type the code on the screen and boom car starts.
