Nice rant though.
Sometimes a fella just needs to get it off his chest. Well done, in my opinion.

Now........ get someone to fix it. :)
Some people aren’t looking for solutions. It’s clear from the title of the thread.

The Fam had and was pleased with a 2001-ish Ford Ranger, a 2004-ish Ford Mustang convertible, and a 2017 Ford C-Max. Do you see a pattern?

Got a deal on a gorgeous red used 2021 Mach-E 24000 miles only 6 months ago from a famous local Ford dealership. Made an account here immediately because I was very exited to learn all the features. Don't think I ever came up with anything to ask that a lot of banging my head on YouTube couldn't answer though.

Now we're done. We want out and we are getting out one way or the other. Bluetooth as a key just stopped completely after a software update. Our phone's gleefully let us know we are connected successfully to the car. The car doesn't care. The whole touchscreen system freezes and reboots while you are driving it! The adaptive cruise malfunctions every day. If you have the cruise off it just annoys you with sensor fault messages and beeps. If the cruise is on, it cancels itself and starts slowing down on regen immediately. Basically the car randomly brake checks the car behind you. The app will ding our phones at 3 or 4 in the morning to let us know that sensor has a problem when not a soul has touched the car for hours. We all know the hands-free system is a joke. We all know that the Nav system is a joke. Which is made even more hilarious by the fact that those are subscription services that expires soon. Good riddance! If you want to get where you are going, Ford's maps ain't gonna cut it anyway. We all know that public charging is possible in a pinch, but never works on the first try, 2nd try, sometimes 3rd try. You'd better get all of the 3rd party charging apps if you are planning on going on any trip. And don't bank on being able use the 1st one you can reach, better have a back-up plan!

Sometimes the driver side window can't roll itself up. Note that it's only the auto-up feature. It always works when you do it the old fashioned way. I didn't even know that was possible to malfunction! The motor obviously works and moves the window just fine. It just cannot activate the auto-up when you least expect it. In other words, you can roll all of the windows down from your phone app. But when you roll them all back up from same app, they all go up except the driver's. Get in and start the car. You can still roll the window up normally. Note that you'd better have the key to start it. Just because your phone app can remote start it or move the windows in no way implies that the Bluetooth as a Key function will actually work. But be careful. If you are just treating it like a very expensive luxury car , you might hit the auto-up manually. The window will jog up a little bit and then stop. So if you are in a hurry and in the habit of driving functional cars, this one might get rained in for a while because you didn't notice the window moved but didn't finish the auto-up. I didn't know that I needed to constantly double-check that but now I do.

Well today, only about 6 months in, we inquired about its trade-in value. Big mistake! The car is more valuable at the bottom of the ocean than it is in our driveway. Ford wants to say it has to take value hit because it's not getting any younger. That's nice. Please tell us when do you plan to start beta testing the cars for the 2021 model year? Are any of the advertised conveniences going to be functional and stable before anyone gets them paid off? The dealership offers a 72 hour return and swap policy with no questions asked. That's fantastic when Ford is going to break the car remotely with software updates a couple weeks later.

So is it all Mach-E's with issues or just ours? Not that it really matters. Either way it will be a cold day in Hell before we make another payment on this one. Proudly financed through Ford Motor Credit - they can come pick it up at their convenience. There's an old saying that's key here.
If you owe a bank $10 thousand and can't pay it, you have a problem. If you owe a bank $10 million and can't pay it, they have a problem. Well when a $50k car isn't even worth $10k as spare parts, FORD has a big problem and they cannot say we didn't give it an honest shot.

Anyone want to buy it? It's very pretty and red and doesn't have any panel fit issues like a Tesla! We're willing to part with it for just the payoff amount.

I wonder if the OP grew up after they started giving away participation trophies in youth sports?

I always wanted to make a T-shirt that said-

“MY kid is tired or hungry, YOUR kid is badly behaved.”

I also find it interesting that the OP did not mention working with the famous dealer to fix any of the issues, at least that I could see. It was all rant, rant rant. I agree that there are probably MANY software updates lying in wait to address some, if not all, of the issues reported. Sad...

yep it's what seems to be pervasive in all the mach e fb and forums groups. I get that a huge percentage of us took a big hit in depreciation but unless you plan to sell immediately it's a moot point, and at any rate completely out of our control

the thread is troll like, guy has only two posts and both in this thread, I'm going to bet it's highly likely he's never driven, much less owned one.

answer me this then, how come his only two posts have zero detail about anything just a lot of random rants. If you're going to complain on a forum bring some concrete info otherwise it's just more troll nonsense and meaningless.

This is no troll. I don't have time to read all replies atm but I surely will later. I am solemnly sounding the alarm to potential suckers like me. Ford absolutely will not stand by these vehicles if anything goes wrong.

Do I want warranty service on that? Aboslutely! I just came back from both dealerships again today. The only semi-reputable dealership in the area told me flat out they opted out of Mach-E servicing and they will never get any more of them on the lot. They said that they would be glad to take a look at any issues that don't require the special EV equipment and training. But it would be 60 days or more out because they have 2 more Mach-E disasters already in line ahead of me.

The scum dealership said to bring it back Monday and we are entitled to a loaner car but they are all out right now and have 2 other customers waiting on them. And when I say scum this is the type of stuff that I mean: They played hide-a-key with my wife yesterday after our test drive. They got the Mach-E key to evaluate it for the trade in offer. Had to ask to get that damn key back 6 different times to 2 different people. They are trying to get us to walk away and let the warranty expire.

I would bet that every single Mach-E is financed through Ford Credit now because the word is out and no other company will touch them with a 100 ft pole. The sticker price on Mach-E's has absolutely no relation to reality anymore other than Ford's stock price. The limited warranty is 1 yr/12000 miles so they are likely just trying to get to that point and wash their hands of it. What good is any warranty when busted software updates come out YEARS into the car's lifespan?

A repo is the only sane option. My credit was fantastic to begin with and Ford Credit royally screwed us on the interest rate as well. We were willing to play ball on the big payment since we did no money down, but we expected it to work. I'd put up with several tech nuisances no problem. I am a lifelong Linux admin - we're built different. We would just re-fi later and lower the payment if it even came close to working as expected. No one would be dumb enough to keep making these payments until the limited joke warranty expires.

I'm being 100% genuine. As we started to catalog all of the issues I never got around to posting because issues are intermittent and new ones kept on creeping up. This car was my wife's daily driver until yesterday so some of the most bizarre things I have only heard about. How about doing full speed down the interstate and suddenly the touchscreen switches to the rear camera view - my wife has had that twice but I haven't yet. I have had the backup cam just freeze, crash, and reboot the whole touchscreen on 2 different days just when trying to back out of our driveway.

I have had the thing activate the emergency braking and slam to a dead stop halfway down coming in to our driveway with absolutely nothing in the way. What happens if that glitch pops up at full speed on the Interstate??

I wasn't kidding about the thread title. I know that no one can help. I knew full well going in to the deal that on cars this expensive retained resale value is absolutely everything. I just didn't know the Mach-E would tank this fast.

And I'll tell everyone who wants to know until my dying day that it is fantastic when everything works smoothly. I love 1 pedal driving. We've had absolutely no actual EV specific issues except for 3rd party chargers. Well there was the once or twice it just ignored its charging schedule and did nothing overnight even though it was plugged. The issues basically all revolve around the high tech features of any modern car. Sorry but those things should be a given in this price range and we didn't sign up to be beta testers.

The 2017 Ford C-Max was the best commuter car we've ever had and we would not even take a chance on the Mach-E unless we kept it as a back-up. It was totaled 2 weeks ago so the Mach-E's chance is over. If Ford drags out this repo process I will at least salute them just for having that much gall.
