HJBJB #1: SSN
HJBJB #2 (w/22S41 sw): SVS

Currently have HVBJB #3 (revised -B part) + june update SW on my car, performs fine so far....
Figured, your first sentence just made me gasp like NOOOO. But I assumed you were saying it in jest. Let's hope it goes the distance, for both of us. I wish we could get some confirmation C is nothing major, that's my only concern. I would HOPE Ford wouldn't let dealers put B in cars if it was also faulty, but then again, I don't have high hopes at this point. I mean, they let them put A back in your car when they already knew at that time it was faulty.

Would they change the part number even if the specs are the same but it's a different supplier?

sorry to give any false impressions. car has been totally fine since getting its extra beefy burrito transplant last week. I even took it out and drove it like nothing happened this morning to have some fun.

I am just not trusting anymore on how Ford or its dealers are handling the situation. They don't seem to be doing very well in adapting their complex system to react to what appears to be a fluid series of running engineering changes.

I've got severe PTSD at this point with all that's happened to me and the car, so I'll try not to post too much so as not to trigger anyone else!

Mine was replaced May 17th with the updated part number. I am almost 4,000 miles post replacement with no problems so far and I have not modified my driving/charging habits.
did your MME have the "recall" software installed along with the "updated" part?

I'd assume yes, but that begs into question why they'd switch suppliers. Maybe @scoopman and I got lucky and they switched to a supplier that could deliver the part ASAP and then they started bidding around and C is a cheaper supplier with the same specs, but hopefully can maintain a better variation in manufacturing than the A supplier.

They say they "updated" the software, but I am sure it was not the recall software since my replacement was in May and I don't think there was any recall software available at that time.

After all this.....

Tooltips are somewhat meaningless as an identifier.

I supposedly did have the recall performed and car returned to me on 5 July.

I have no updates available showing in FDRS at the minute.

I currently have showing for my '21 Prem AWD ER Job 1 car the following software versions:

PCM MJ98-14C204-BBK
BECM NJ98-14C197-BD
OBCC LJ98-14G684-AN
SOBDM LJ98-14F476-AU
SOBDMB LJ98-14H297-DE
SOBDMC LJ98-14G069-BBH

So if anybody knows what the updated versions are supposed to be for this car I would appreciate knowing.

And I don't want to hear "we can neither confirm or deny"...If you don't know please don't speculate.

And on the topic of getting this via OTA. I don't get OTAs. I will look forward to updating via FDRS as the situation warrants.

We're still trying to figure out which vehicles are getting additional updates and what these updates may address. It is confirmed that 2021 GT's have the following updates:

PCM: Suffix -ACM (June Update is -ACL)
SOBDMB: Suffix -BM (June Update is -BL)

I was seeing the updates on other GT's but had to do a connected scan on mine to get them to show up (FDRS cache may have been why I wasn't seeing mine).

I will do a connected scan tomorrow and see if anything is different or new.

Thanks for your efforts on this and the other threads that deal with this issue.

And as a reminder...remember, no good deeds go unpunished.

There sees to be quite a lag between various Ford systems showing the VIN as being part of the recall. (For instance the NHTSA Recall site showed my VIN as being part of the recall, and a couple days after I got the updates done at a dealer, the NHTSA site no longer shows a recall for my VIN. Meanwhile neither the Ford Recall site nor my FordPass app showed that I had a recall, and I've not received a letter either.) You can simply wait for the OTA update to occur, or call your dealership service department and ask them to look it up in their system to see if it they can do the update (they should be able to).
I just got the update. I stand corrected!

Well, my sage has come to an end. I picked up my car yesterday, looks like they did a clean job, didn't notice any damage, etc. Pretty quick turn around, I guess! Took it in Thursday morning and picked it up Tuesday afternoon, so 4 business days.

Confirmed via the paperwork that Ford engineering did give me a hand, but were just a little late to the party. Service manager said they had already gotten the DTC to come back by driving almost 90 mph on the same route I took... how swell... when they already started working on the car the FSC called and said to order the HVBJB and that the DTC means to replace it. The manager advised they already figured it out but thanks for the call lol. If the DTC didn't come back, but it seems like once you get it once, you're just guaranteed to see its return shortly, then they would have saved the day.

They did order "Part A" but were automatically sent "Part B" as expected. No dice getting photos, but what can you do.

Made it safely to work today, the route home is when I got my last SVS message, but it seems to be rockin' and rollin'. Placebo effect, I'm sure, but definitely feeling like I can push it to a higher MPH before the gray bars really take me out. Doubtful it is related to the new part as I was experiencing this after I had done the recall updates with my last HVBJB that failed.

They did not do the newest updates I have available: PCM and SOBDMB but I'll get to those later today. Dealer was great at the end and said now they know that if anyone gets this DTC to replace the HVBJB. They apologized that I had to push so hard to get it done at the beginning but at least other customers won't have to worry about it (at this dealer, hopefully). They even went a final step and asked for my gas receipt from the rental and said they'll send me a check in a few weeks. Oh, and they said they can clear the recall for my VIN, they just put on my service report: Customer performed recall updates himself, please submit to Ford and clear recall.

Thanks everyone for your help and accompaniment on this journey!

Depends on their doc control procedures. Some systems allow an Alternate Vendors List (AVL) in a part number, some do not. The doc control system in either event, whether there is an AVL or not needs to somehow track batches so that they know where an item came from and in what time frame. ??

Your dealer was much nicer than the one I got stuck at in Alhambra -- they won't even give me any documentation from the work that was done on my car.

I might have missed/forgot it in the saga, but where did you go? I’m naturally worried about my ‘21 GTPE. I got my car from Autonation Tustin but have never actually serviced it anywhere, but my inclination is to go there since it’s close to me.
