So, I'm seeing reports that the updated charging curve (and usable battery?) is part of the 2.4.1-2.4.5 update. If the 2.4.5 updates are in FDRS, does that mean an updated charge curve for my Job 1.5 is in there too? Has anyone confirmed this?

Multiple people can check your vin but possibly as Job 2 cars have the charge update available in FDRS now.

I tested when up to 2.4.5. At EA plug, I was getting a bit over 30 kW at over 80% charge. Not great, but could be very useful on some long jumps. I pulled the plug at around 83%,, so I don't have a good idea of the rest of the curve.

It seems the enhanced charging was in the 2.4.x series somewhere as I didn't have it updated separately.

I have a very early Job 1.

It was my understanding that the faster charging above 80% was part of 21P22..not the 2.4.x series of OTAs.

I second that. Just based on what people that have dealer access have said, all but 2.4.2 have been IPC/APIM updates which cannot affect charging speed

2.4.2 adjusted Regen and brake pedal. I'm guessing the modules involved in this update did not include charging system related modules (like the off board charging module). So seems less likely to me. But if there were any of these updates that included it this seems most likely

I recognize that many on this forum have a better technical understanding of the update process than I do, but here goes:

- This is an early J1 car (but delivery was delayed), and goes for its first service visit in 2 weeks. So any updates I’ve received have been OTA. This represents updates through 2.4.5.

- Initially on fast chargers there was a rapid drop to around 12 kW at 80% state of charge.

- I did another test this morning. EA 150 kW charger. Started at 72% state of charge. It’s in the mid 50s.
- The results:
- 72-80% charge — 44-50 kW
- 80% — 38 kW
- 81% — 39 kW
- 82% — 39 kW
- 83% — 40 kW
- 84% — 34 kW
- 85%-90% — 36 kW
- Unfortunately, I had to unplug at that point.

So I suppose I don’t care how this happened….I’ll take it.

Well your car is obviously using an updated charging curve. But...

I don't think even Ford has a good technical understanding of the update process. ?

Didn’t 2.4.2 include the charging curve update?
I'm not EA, and I'm not a Ford employee, so I cannot confirm this. Previously I was under the impression that it only touched brake calibration, not charging system modules.

But I'm beginning to question if that's the case. Given that the charging curve update has been one of the things Ford has been more public about, I'd be surprised if they did release that update OTA without saying anything. But ?‍♂
