I would hope they don't charge to full. I'd rather they leave them at 50% or so (heck even 90% would be better than 100%) given that they will be parked for a whilte. 100% full would not be a good way to treat a brand new battery sitting out in the Mexican sun all day.

Let the dealers put that last few % in them prior to delivery (it gives them something to do other than wash it ;) ).
i don't care if the dealer charges it or not. when it's at the dealer i want it, I WANT IT NOW! :D
i can do the charging myself.

LOL! I've expressed that myself here several times: Going to e-mail the sales person that they don't have to charge it to full and I will mark on any dealer survey that I receive that the car had a "full tank" when I received it (yeah I'll lie).

I'd rather it sit in my driveway where I can stare at it charging than in their garage overnight.

As for Ford building/shipping them with a charge, I'm confident they know the right charge level to put in to safely make it through the plant+shipping stages.

The dealership will probably be clueless. But I'd be surprised if any Mach-E sits at a dealership long enough for a full charge after arrival to matter. ?

I think mine will sit there for a bit. They have some modifications to make to the car when it arrives and I specifically told 2 of the employees that they are free to take the car out for lunch and have a little fun. There is an area near that dealership where they can have a choice of restaurants and DCFC while they eat. Not sure if it will play out like that though. It's all a moot point until it actually ships anyway....

Agreed. Just give it to me above 20% and I’ll take it from there.

Well we have to remember that unlike on the Bolt, 100% is likely not 100% on the MME due to the difference between actual and usable capacity. I would imagine, though I don't know this for a fact, that 100% corresponds to the 100% usable charge in the app not the actual capacity. The fact that they might be sitting in the sun in Mexico may be precisely why they are charging them to full. I haven't read this in the MME manual yet, but I know that the Bolt can turn on the A/C if the battery gets to warm even if the ignition is off. There's a warning in the manual. Wouldn't surprise me if the MME can do something similar.

Either way, I've got to imagine it's a bit of a new logistics challenge to build electric cars in this climate and having them sit around for very long without shipping them.

I am beyond confused. On my Ford Pass App it shows the color of my car and the vin but nothing else. To activate the WiFi you have to sign up with ATT. Basically an annual cost of $200.
How are you all getting this other stuff on the Ford pass app???

Mine just started showing the color & photo of the car today, before just Mach-E. It also now shows the vehicle hotspot link like yours, but not much else.

you are right. The color showed up today. I tried to set up the WiFi but found out it HAS to be ATT. I have Verizon so now I am stuck getting ATT for the car only. You have to have this to get the OTA. Unlimited is $20 a month or $200 if you pay the entire year. I have no idea how much data OTA uses so I figure might as well spend the $200 and have permanent WIFI.

I believe you can get OTA when parked at home and connected to your home wifi. I believe the ATT wifi for the car is only if you wish to use the car wifi as hotspot or use it for OTA outside of home. I could be wrong.

There is not much that you can do now with the app. The recent refresh has taken away the ability to connect to the vehicles as it is likely in some sort of transportation mode. That is a good thing.

Car manufactures can normally only have one internet provider. In this case, it is AT&T. I wouldn't go buying AT&T service at this time. I believe there is a period of time that the connectivity is free. OTA updates should also be able to be done via internet by connecting to your home, if you are able to do that.

I recommend you wait until you get your car. Hopefully the Ford Pass app will be functional by that time.
