Hey everyone,

I saw a reference to the “price level” in another post. I was wondering if anyone had a summary of the various price levels that exist. I did some searching and couldn’t find any sort of consolidated info on this.

Sorry. I assumed if anyone knew the answer to this, they wouldn’t need more context. Orders are assigned a price level. I can see mine on a document my dealership gave me. I think this number changed for orders that were submitted after the Dec price change. I’m also guessing that different trim levels have different numbers. I was just wondering if there was a list of the levels that exist.

I believe the original poster is referring to the price level box that is listed on the dealer order form. This corresponds to the price at the time of purchase. For example mine says price level 215 because I ordered in November. People who have posted here ordering after the December price increase said that their price levels to 220. I think now it’s at 225. So I don’t think it is a mathematical number but merely a bucket that you are placed in based on when you order

@xinlitik is right, that’s exactly what I meant. I didn’t realize these were so simple — I saw 215 & 220, but I thought there was more than a couple of them.

I'm a 12/3/21 order date and on my order sheet, price level is 220. Sometimes people here are snarky, but keep asking until you find the answers.

I have owned Fords since 1998, ordered several of them, and have never heard that term before. Nor can I recall reading a thread mentioning it.

So, what is the relevance of it vs a date that is also on the order?

Thanks. Never noticed that before, probably because it is in Ford to dealer communications. Don't really see how it matters to the consumer, because the date also defines price.

So, to the OP's question, why does it matter if Ford changed the price 3 times, 5 times, or 8 times? All that matters is the price that the customer and the dealer agreed to, no?

My 5/29/21 order says 125. It was updated to a 2022 (still not delivered) and says 215. To me, that's totally meaningless.

This is probably the thread OP is referring to: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/04-18-22-build-week-gang.16399/#post-396188

According to the linked reply, the price level on your order sheet is going to be the price level that you are protected to. So besides order date, it's another way of confirming that you and the dealer are going to be on the same page come purchase time.

This to me is a red flag you might want to look into (and perhaps evidence on why price level matters more than order date). I ordered in January (well after the December price increase) and have the same price level of 220. This same price level of 220 appears on my window sticker (post-December price) The 220 on your order sheet suggests your dealer might argue you are not price protected, especially if they did not confirm the order until after the price increase went into effect.

@NJ_MachE is right on all accounts. This is exactly why I was asking.

@WNKent did you make any changes to your order after the price change? I had the same thought that NJ_MachE had, but I didn’t want to cause any unnecessary panic.

I made no changes, the removal of parking assist and getting the kit was done automatically by Ford; my dealership had no idea about parking assist, from the beginning.

I've been concerned about this too. I ordered on 10/1 but my price level on the dealer provided order sheet has the 12/8 price level (220). The dealer first told me that price protection isn't offered but later told me that it's automatic at delivery if there is one. I'm thinking that price level is tied to any automatic price protection. In my case, I think I'm (incorrectly) tied to the 12/8 price if I don't question it. I may be in for a fight come June.

I think Rick is right and focusing on price level might lead to confusion. For example, I ordered during that 10/1/2021 wave (before the $2K price increase in ?December) and my order sheet signed by the dealer shows the price in effect then, and also has a price level listed as 215. I know there has been lots of angst about this and fighting with dealers, but for now I assume price protection covers me for that price on my order form. But my car is currently in production and the price level on the window sticker is 225, with the price shown reflecting the $2K increase (minus the $345 for the self parking prep kit). So one can have more than one price level, depending on where you look. I'm with Rick, that what matters is what's on the paperwork from the time of the order (and not what's on the window sticker).
