So today my frunk opened on its own. Obviously unrelated, but got this update last night, drove to work this morning, went back to the car 30 minutes later to head to a meeting and frunk open message pops up. Sure enough, FULLY open, not even the first release, like I could completely lift it up. Yay.

No, I have nothing in my frunk at all, and even if that release was hit, I believe it just opens the first latch, not allowing it to fully open. I did not touch my screen on the drive to work, so no accidental touch of the frunk button there. No key that can open the frunk, yet.
The trunk opening on it's own wasn't enough, so they make the frunk open on its own as well to prove they can open things without us requesting it. Okay Ford, we get it, you can open the the car. Now can you keep it closed please?

"This update addresses the issue where radio presets have been affected during vehicle software updates."

OK, granted this has been an annoyance since day 0, not sure why it took the car out of circulation for 12 minutes or so just to fix this.

I wonder if it fixes being able to save the higher XM channels. I can never get my sports team to save. When get back into the car the next time the image is there, but doesnt go to it.

Did you happen to use the numbers on the door at all?

It’s odd I have not experienced this radio presets issue, usually if it’s on the wrong ones I switch from my wife’s profile and mine are back. I have like 20 XM stations set too

So the update competed successfully this afternoon. I planned to start it right after the charge finished, but I was in meetings and could not. So it sat for a couple hours, connected to the charger, fully charged.

I left the car connected to the EVSE, and selected "update now". I turned off the car, turned off the headlights, and exited the car. While it did the update, the car pulled some decent power from the EVSE:

If you are having trouble getting an update to complete, try charging your car and keeping it connected after it finishes. It worked for me.

Mine failed because of the stupid headlamp switch that's defective. I had to go into the car and turn the knob to get it to get out of it's funk. Yet Ford refuses to replace my headlamp switch...

That's why I turned my headlights off before getting out of the car. It is very interesting you were notified regarding the reason for the failure.

I have a 4 hour trip home tomorrow. I would think it’s irrelevant turning the headlight switch off but no harm since the trip will be in daylight

I know it seems funny and it is but with Fords systems, having to turn the headlight switch off in the first place is crazy.

but it’s a Ford.

Headlights off is a precondition for applying an update.

You don't have to turn it to the off position. It's just when it gets into it's funk and acts up that it causes issues. Some of us have defective headlamp switches. I turned it to auto and it updated after that. I never turned them off.
