So far I have used mine on: wheel locks, first aid kit, road hazard kit, bumper protection appliqué and a different case (much nicer) for the Ford Mobile Charger. I have the Ford Rewards VISA and we run EVERYTHING through the card so I average 10,000 points a month + or -. Right now I have 75,000 points. We‘re non-revolvers and pay the entire balance each month so we just keep racking up points. I’ll use them when my car comes in too to reduce cost.
I don't buy enough stuff from Ford to make that card worth it. I have a few other cards that cover everything at a minimum of 2%, with 3-5% on Amazon, travel, restaurants, gas, etc.

I'm going to stop using it once I've paid for those things I want for the Mach E. Our other card credits our account by taking off money and that's the one we usually use.

I did the exact same thing at first... thought the inconsistent unlocking was probably a PAAK problem. I figured even if I had the fob with me (which I always do), that PAAK may have been stepping on it (I'm not sure which one takes precedence if both are in range). So I completely disabled PAAK. Had it off for 3 weeks now. But I still experience some of the same inconsistencies using the fob alone. Not too often, but mostly when the car hasn't been doing anything for hours (like first attempt in the morning). Once I've "woken it up", it usually works fine.
Tim, do you have Walk Away Lock enabled? That seemed to cause some erratic behavior for me and as I said earlier, my preference is to have this disabled anyway.

Yes. It's a feature I really wanted, even though it drives me crazy in the garage at home.

Maybe I'll try turning it off.

Didn't want to jinx it. But I have successfully picked up my new Mach E and did not have to pay for extra FOB programming.

Simply asked ahead of time if they would program my extra FOB during car prep. No push back and now I have two working FOB!

Moral of the story...ask early and ask nicely lol.

I’m going to try that too but I’m pretty sure they are going to charge me for programming. They are putting my wheel locks on free of charge. I assume you gave them the second key before you took delivery? Did you make a special trip to drop it off At car prep? I’m thinking that’s what I’ll do too.

I tried that also, but no luck. I asked the dealer a few weeks ago if they could pair the new fob (which I bought from Ford) during the car prep, but they said I would have to pay $115 for an hour of labor. Oh well, at least I only had to pay $30 for the fob. Since I’m paying for an hour of their time, I asked them to also see if there’s a way to disable drive-away locking and the reverse beep sound, but I’m not hopeful.

I did. I figured if I put extra effort up front... how could they say no. It really was a non issue.

This is getting VERY FRUSTRATING. One Key and PaaK that doesn't work consistently, a service department that doesn't return calls and the ability for a locksmith not to be able to program a key.

This is BEYOND RIDICULOUS, Ford, get your crap together and send ALL of us a second keyfob and a certificate for at least 1 FREE programming of the fob.

When asked about my experience I will NOT be giving good reviews.

This is the WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD.
I totally agree that not having a reliable spare key for a new vehicle is about the worst decision Ford has made regarding 'standard options'. My local Dealer for instance still maintains they can't program spare FOBs not purchased thru their Service dept., and they can't GET any for the foreseeable future because they are 'backordered'.

That being said, I was able to get PAAK working once finally after many tries and clearing everything; which enabled setting the Backup Start Code. So, I've put my fob in the drawer at home for spare.... and attempt to use PAAK. If PAAK doesn't work, I use the door code and then the Console Code.

I have found that if I turn Bluetooth off on my phone, and back on as I approach MME, then PAAK 'sometimes' re-connects if I press the 'unlock' button on the phone FordPass app.

Simply no way for me to trust PaaK. Demand two fobs. Not one ounce of sense in delivering these cars with one fob.
You don't have to trust PAAK as long as you can get thru it ONCE and set the Backup Start Code. Doesn't make me happy, but as long as there is SOME way I know I can get into the car AND start it without either a Fob or a phone, I'm ok....

I tried using an old phone to activate PAAK and set up a backup start code, but it would never complete the process. It said the key was downloaded, but it would hang on the 6-digit copy code and never go any further.

I suspect it may be because I'm logged into FordPass on that phone with the same userid/pw as my current phone. It had worked on my current phone weeks ago, but I decided I wanted to deactivate PAAK on that phone. All I really want is the backup start code, but it needs PAAK for that. I'll have to set up a different userid/pw and see if that works.

Turned off walk away lock because it can’t be disabled in your garage which is a pain. Hopefully a future update, but probably won’t happen

If you are having trouble setting up PA AK for the first time it is most likely you need to go back and make sure you clear everything from both the console, fordpass, and your phone that you are trying to configure. I wrote a detailed step-by-step I found that if you start with a completely clean slate you may be able to get through it and set that backup code. After that it doesn't matter really if you have a phone present or not

PAAK works on my current phone when I activate it (I have a few times before having an issue then deactivating it). It's just the backup phone that it doesn't like (yet). I already did a factory reset on it, so it has a totally new FordPass install on it.

I don't want to reset the car settings again though. It's not worth starting over there. I'll play with it a little more, but we have 2 fobs now so it's nothing important anyway.

I installed the Android FordPass update yesterday, so maybe that fixes a few things. I'll probably try activate PAAK on my real phone again first and see how that goes first.
