Any tips for sliding the existing blade off? I saw the video on page 2 where you pull firmly to the right, but my blade didn't budge and I didn't want to force it.

Are you supposed to have the assembly raised off the glass?
I used my left hand to hold it slightly off the glass and pulled gently and firmly to the right with my other hand. I tried to pull near the joint without bending or twisting, and it eventually gave a slight pop. It wasn't quite loose yet, so I pulled a little more, and it popped again. Like I think the first pop was it getting halfway. When it was free, it didn't take much pressure at all for the perpendicular movement towards the window.

Success! Was finally able to get the 15-G blade installed. My first "mod" - how exciting ?

Thanks everyone for their experimentation on this. I got my 15-G blade added the other day and it is definitely an improvement. I can almost guarantee I would have broken the arm if I hadn't had the instructions laid out so well too.

That's the one I got and put on a couple of days ago. I drove through a rainstorm last night and some more this morning. Liked the extra wiped area the longer blade has.

The extra coverage of a 15" blade has been a massive boon during this Juneuary in Seattle. Highly recommend.

I still have not been able to remove the existing blade, I don't want to break it.
If it’s like a number of other cars, it’s on there pretty good. You should just need to firmly pull the old blade away from the arm’s pivot point to release then drop the blade away from the arm. Some cars take some real oomph on that first part.

Waiting for Mach-E! ?

I did some more testing while driving around so I could use a lot more washer fluid. You're right that there's a section of the arc that doesn't seem to be completely wiped by the blade. For me, it's about 3/4 of the way up above the arm pivot point. It wipes fine above and below this point, but there was still fluid left in this section.

So I tried another 15" blade to see if it was any better. This one is actually much closer in design to the original blade, just longer. I did the same tests and don't see any missed spots anymore. This one appears to be the way to go.

This is an excellent recommendation!

I purchased and installed this blade, and it’s a great improvement!

I installed this blade, and it didn't make one bit of difference (*). Not a single drop of rain since I purchased the vehicle 3.5 months ago, with or without these fancy pants wide blade enhancements.

(*) I'm only kidding. About replacing the wiper blades, that is. It hasn't rained. :(

I have wondered from the beginning why they didn’t put the rear window wiper at the top of the window in the spoiler. It would have looked cleaner and allowed for a larger wiper blade.
Many of us have wondered that in multiple threads here. Even more importantly, the blade cleans the widest swath on the edge where the blade is mounted. In the case of the Mach E, that means the bottom edge of the window has the widest area cleared by the blade. Since that is the most visible and important viewing area, it would make sense to mount it at the top. However, Ford may have also decided to mount the blade at the bottom so it wouldn't obscure vision when not operating. They might not have been able to tuck it up close enough to the spoiler to get it out of sight.

Thanks for the excellent recommendation. Received my Trico 15-G from Amazon today: it installed in two seconds, is snug to the rear window while stationary and during wipe, and clears a larger area. Much better view through the rear view mirror.
(took pics but it was too bright out and window wasn't dirty enough to represent well in pics)

Thanks! Took about 30 seconds to install. Pull wiper outward away from arm about an inch. Lift arm pull wiper towards window to remove. Remove slider clip from Trico Exactfit 15". Line up with arm and push it on (this was annoying since you cannot see the clip on the arm). Much better coverage!!
