So close, but just a tad too far away. I'm taking my 21J1 FE AWD in today for a charge port replacement. From what I understand, this requires a really extensive teardown. Meaning I'll likely get my car back just to have another extensive teardown done for the HVBJB in a month or two.
Since the dealership gave me a loaner, I went ahead and had them do every single outstanding recall and CSP for my car including the HVBJB. Despite the holidays and waiting for the HVBJB part (and any other parts they needed), it only took them three weeks to perform the following:
  1. Replace the charge port.
  2. Replace the HVBJB
  3. Perform the windshield reseal recall
  4. Perform the panoramic roof reseal recall.
  5. Perform the stuck charger CSP
  6. Perform the CSP to replace the emergency brake cable
  7. Perform the CSP for reprograming the HVAC
  8. Look into SSM 50513 (clicking front wheels while turning).
I just checked FordPass and all but the windshield reseal recall have already been removed from my account.

Well, I got mine back. All 3 recalls done and they updated “all available modules.” Even had the tech plug the laptop in when I picked it up just to be sure.

All in all not a bad experience.

Called to schedule Dec 29.
They picked my car up and dropped off a 23 GTPE loaner Jan 3.
Ordered parts Jan 4.
Parts show up Jan 9.
Pick up car Jan 12.
I'm really glad you were able to have a good experience getting the recall done. Meanwhile there are people like me who need to have it done because my HVJB failed (again) and my dealership is horrible. Warnings and reduced power Christmas eve, call to the dealership the 26th, begging them to order the part right then and and there, claimed they needed my car to do so(of course I'm 400 miles away seeing family). My call has the recall so they could absolutely order it regardless if my current one has failed or not. 10 hours of getting my car home and dropped off at the dealership not long after on Thursday evening, they get to my car Friday afternoon and I get a call Friday evening saying it needs to have the HVJB replaced(no shit Sherlock holmes), oh and the service advisor I am dealing with told me when I dropped off the car it probably just needed an update ?. Now 2 weeks later I'm told that the original estimate of 5 days for it to come in is now up to 4 weeks. Yeah...I've contacted Ford about this BS. Can't believe that both times my HVJB goes bad I get to have the worst experience possible with dealerships to get it fixed! Lucky me!! ??

Dropped my car off on Tuesday and started getting warnings on Tues afternoon (and location changed in Ford Pass). Been sitting in the same location for a couple of days and when I just talked to Service Advisor, he said that the last part they were waiting on came in yesterday. He just went and talked to the tech and apparently all the physical work is done, but they are having a problem updating software on one of the modules. They are going to try a different computer tomorrow and if that still fails, they'll have to get Ford involved on Monday. Hopefully it'll resolve tomorrow, because I suspect if Ford has to get involved it'll be at least a week delay.

So it looks like Ford SSC has stopped allowing ordering of some HVBJB, I’ve got the screenshot from the portal that my advisor gave me, attaching here, text is really small, so I will transcribe it as well.

Seems like they actually are staggering availability now?

It reads: "Due to the high backorder situation with part number NK4Z-106C666-E, if the vehicle is down you will need to use the reman part number NK4Z-10C666CRM to complete the repair. You can order the reman part through the normal channels. The bulletin and claiming will be updated to accept this part number to close the recall repair. When the OEM part is in better supply normal ordering will resume. Please type UNDERSTOOD in the box below indicating you will order the reman part if the vehicle is currently down in your shop"

and then there's box with UNDERSTOOD asking if they want the reman part.

I'm so confused, what's happening here? Any ideas @Mach-Lee ?

Seems to be a lot of overall confusion around, my service advisor said a Ford rep was in yesterday and they had a meeting with everyone about this and about how the dealer is supposed to order the parts 5 days in advance, but they responded that they weren't able to. I think something got messed up with this recall in communicating and availability.
This is better info that what I have, and it makes sense. The NK4Z-106C666-E part for the Base AWD vehicles is constrained due to everyone wanting to get their recall done at once, so they are going to allow the use of the reman part as a substitute. Both should contain the new contactors.

I'm guessing the recall demand was faster than anticipated since repair waves weren't enforced, hence the shuffle.

I guess I can just wait till the non reman part becomes more readily available for my dealer to complete this?
They seemed to think we could only get that reman part if my car was down. Which is what the notice reads like as well.

Picked up mine yesterday after the recall was concluded. Got SSN twice on the way home. (Seemed to be triggered by regen in unbridled with 1pd). Back in the shop today. I drive the rest of the way home and back to the dealer in Whisper with 1pd off. Switched it back on in the dealer lot. I think whoever drove it away got SSN as I got the pop up in the FP app while I was talking to the service advisor.
Got another MME for a loaner. Apparently they are plentiful as I saw about 10 lined up in the sales lot.
I think your HVBJB is jealous that you are exchanging her for a newer model, that might not be much better.

just a hissy fit, nothing more.

The dealership system in this country is broke. There’s nothing that @Ford Motor Company can legally do about it and little the official onsite presence can do and as usual, the customers get the short end from dealers and their lobby.

Definitely making me consider a non-dealer brand in the future, but I think my dealer is ok it’s just a lot of very confusing communications.

Oh I agree with you completely. About the only thing Ford can do is open a case for me with a customer relations person to escalate the order for my HVJB. My dealership apparently didn't tell Ford when they ordered it, that my car is broken and put it just under the recall. ? I'm just tired of getting the shit end of the stick every single time I need to go to a dealership. Which was why I waited so long to have my other recalls taken care of. I absolutely love my car and have always had Fords, but the dealership shit NEEDS to change...

Just got my '22 GT back yesterday after the dealer completed recall 23S56 and 23B50. A short summary:
-12/19: Called dealer and said I needed recall. Dealer said I need to bring car in for inspection. I said no I don't. They said they would look into it and call me back.
-12/20: Dealer called back and said they ordered the parts, no inspection needed. Will call me when parts are in.
-1/8: Dealer calls, parts are in, they pick up my car. Confirmed Part # LK9Z-10C666-C as new part for GT.
-1/12: Recall complete, car delivered back to me with three free car wash coupons.

HVBJB replacement apparently went well except two bolts broke as they were removing the HVB. They had to "extract both the bolts using heat and drilling them out to grab the studs to remove them." That didn't sound good to me, but the dealer assured me no damage was done and replacement bolts were installed with no problem. Not sure why the bolts would break the first time the battery was removed.

The car drives normally post recall, but time will tell how robust this new HVBJB is. The only difference I have noted so far Is on L2 charging: when I plugged it in last night to my Juicebox running at 12 amps, the charging started immediately upon plug in. Before, it always took at least 10 - 15 seconds where the charging port lights were white before the blue lights kicked in and charging started. Not sure if that change was related to the 23B50 charge cord work.

Here are a couple photos of the old part followed by the new part:

Was just in yesterday for the 20k service and the charge port repair. When I asked about the recall, service desk said that it will be opened up to non-urgent (failure, GT/GTPE) on 2/16 to order the new HVBJB. Anyone else told this? I have a AWD ER.
