My 'Transit Date' says 1....guess my car is on a bullet express train ? . I'm sure it's a typo or mistake.
Unclear what Transit Date means. For sure it's not the number of days in transit. Maybe related to the time between when the MME was built and the time is started shipping? Maybe someone else knows.

The transit date is bit weird - could it mean date to transit from date of built start? In which case transit date of 1 makes no sense. But in looking at the VIN for my Bronco Sport, this field shows 14 - the exact days between build start date and Ship date. May be coincidence in numbers or this field is used for different things

Well, my ETA date has changed from 1/21/21 back to my good friend 1/1/90. Never was marked in Transit though, so talk about getting one's hopes up... Production date was 11/28.

My transit date makes perfect sense. I have a 12/31 shipping date and a 2/9 delivery date. That's 40 days. My transit date is 40.

Mine has the same transit date, and has stayed that way since I received a ship date:

Ford Mustang Mach-E Shipped Mach-Es Arrive at Kansas City Terminal With Deliveries Imminent Screen Shot 2021-01-05 at 10.56.22 AM

Notice what shop.ford has to say about it, looks like it should reflect est ship time as noticed by @ChasingCoral :

Too bad I couldn't have gotten that direct airlift to the dealer, would have made my Dec 31 deadline ;)

for me it doesn’t match my 12/31 shipping and eta of jan 25,
My transit date is 46, BUT my first eta was feb 13 so it is 44 days, maybe it took 2 days for logistics before the train departing

Don't understand your issue: you got the car 31 years ago! Back to the future!

Yeah, sure did, but I couldn't charge it then! (At least when there aren't thunderstorms brewing).

Quick update on this one, however - www.macheforum.com/site/pages/tracker reports that ETA date was just updated to 1/14/21 (from 1/21/21). But the Ford Vehicle Tracking site shows no ETA. ?‍♂

In large legacy organizations there is typically a collection of separate systems. There are varied reasons for that - from individual subgroups having their own budgets and thus buying their own systems, to older systems being replaced piecemeal over decades. Those systems are rarely designed to interact with external sources in realtime, so what typically happens is that updates are sent from one to another in mass batches at off peak hours. The end result is that often different systems don't agree with one another at any given snapshot in time. Even newer companies tend to segregate/isolate the systems that face the web to provide security layers around sensitive data.

tl;dr : don't sweat that you don't get the same answer from 2 different sources

It's like getting advice from the IRS, call three times and take the answer you get twice.

My guess is that this is just coincidence. Mine certainly doesn't "add up". Shipping date was 12/31. ETA is 02/08. Transit date is 17. The shipping of "1" also doesn't make sense if it's days in transit.
