I'm new to the Mach-E Forum, so forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong place or state something incorrectly. But, here it is: This is build week for my Dark Matter Gray 2022 Mach-E Premium ER AWD. I'm excited to get it in coming weeks, but I've been reading a lot of threads on here about the SSN and SVG messages, recalls, battery cooling system concerns, delays in repairs, etc. So, it begs the question: should I go through with accepting delivery (at MSRP) or give the dealer the gift of a Mach-E to mark up on their lot? Are Mach-Es really that bad or are we talking about a few bad apples and I'm just a new-to-the-forum overreactor?

Thanks!

Yes; get it. I’ve had the HVBJB issue; car was down for 4 business days. Yours will have the latest and should not be a concern.

Ford is putting a lot behind these vehicles; they need them to succeed. I wouldn’t hesitate a second to buy again.

Overreacting. Get it. Enjoy it. Sell it for more than you pay if for some reason the experience isn’t what you expect.

The MME is a great car.

Keep in mind that there are over 50K of these on the road.... and forums are an echo chamber for "problems"... not a representation of broader experience.

As somebody above posted, if you hate it, you can sell it for more than you paid for it. That doesn't come along very often in ones lifetime.

Your new build has new HVBJB parts. Honestly, mostly it will just be small software problems that annoy you. Big failures are rare. Supply part problem is the same across the market. Tesla is even worse.

Definitely get it, get the $7500 tax credit too if possible. Just sell it/trade in for a new car if you don't like it enough. Easy 10K profit I expect.

This forum is cheaper (and quicker) than therapy. Thanks for the reassurance!

In light of the 2023 pricing and tax credit constraints, worst case scenario you could sell it for a decent profit (if you don't like the car). Please don't gift it to the dealership.

Good news is, cars built this week have the upgraded HVBJB so you don't have to worry about the biggest issue this car has.

The car has some issues - a few major but pretty rare (like the old HVBJB) and some minor and common (seriously, my car didn't pre-condition this morning - again). Still, it's my favorite car ever - useful tech, lightning fast, just a blast to drive. Is it perfect? No. Is it great? I think so. Get it, enjoy it, and worst case - you can sell it for more than you paid if you really don't like it.

Resounding echo to everything everyone else has said. I’ve been pretty lucky—only software update issues for me so far with a Job 1.5 2021 build—and it’s so much fun to drive. Plus, I didn’t realize how much I didn’t like gas stations until I didn’t have to stop at one anymore.

My personal path is this: I love it, and it hasn’t let me down badly (perhaps ā€œyet,ā€). I’m going to keep driving it until a better alternative drops and then make a decision about trading in for a Cadillac Lyriq, a Rivian R1S, or maybe even the imagined Apple Car, but until those models are in a better supply and until this ceases to be fun to drive, I’m really very happy. I see no reason at this point to leave this car behind; it’s a keeper.

Get it and give it to me. ??

Seriously, the car is great. As everyone else has said, you can always sell it at a profit if you don’t like it. I think you probably will like it. ??

Following this thread, and thankful for your responses!! I was thinking the same thing. The forum is an awesome place to support everyone and learn from each other. We will hear more about the issues here as folks are getting a lot of help. We won't hear as much about the uneventful purchases. Very glad to hear so many positive responses about the MME.

Can't wait for mine to be delivered in 18-22 (or 52 :p ) WEEKS!
