I ordered a Premium in 1/14/22 and I’m seeing so many negative posts. I’m I making a mistake in buying the Mach E.
I can only speak for myself. This is the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned. And it’s pretty :)

Hopefully, by the time yours arrives, the software will be in much better shape and far less buggy. Also, it does depend on the quality of your dealer to a great extent. If your dealer isnt EV-savvy, then you are the expert and need to do the research on updates, fixes, etc. If you wait until you have a problem, then its too late. Keep checking the forum that has the list of TSB available and demand updates from the dealer.

No car is perfect but my MME is the best car I have ever owned. This forum has made me aware of problems I would likely never see, but if I do, I am prepared and have a good idea how to handle it.

Ok, I’ll tell you what I tell all the random people who stop me in parking lots, etc. and ask me about the car:
I love this car. I can’t imagine ever going back to a gas-powered car. The range is fine - I’ve done trips to visit friends in New York State and in VA/MD and never had any real concerns about charging. When I’m local, I just charge at home, so I wake up with “a full tank of gas” every morning! The driver assistance and safety features are great - definitely among the best available. The car is extremely roomy and comfortable. And the best thing - it’s fun to drive (and I used to own a Miata so I know a little bit about “fun to drive” ?). Being able to hit the accelerator and immediately go is an incredible feeling, and frankly reassuring from a safety perspective.
You will definitely enjoy your car. Do keep in mind that you will be close to the leading edge so you will see a bit more change and some more hiccups than people driving mature technology, Dino-juice powered cars see.

Consumer reports survey of owners shows it tied for the top spot in owner satisfaction for all BEV. Also rating has been increased to recommended based upon reliability being better than predicted.

Forums are where people come to complain, don't get worked up by the echo chamber.

I've had my Mach E since August 2021 and it's been problem-free aside from PAAK which is now working after the latest OTAs ....and the dealer gave me a 2nd key for free so I can't complain.

Love the car.

Sorry, you are a long way from "buying the Mach E". You ordered your MME at a time when you could see that Ford's predicted delivery time was 20-28 weeks. Folks who ordered 2021MY MME mostly did not know the severe delays that would result in the 2021MY order backlog. This is the main cause of negative views, frustration, and grumpiness on this forum. (Ford's poor communication about the causes of delay and apparent arbitrariness of MME allocation also a cause.) Now that Ford is suspending production of MME (7 Feb 2022) due to microchip shortages, those who ordered 2022MY MME are now in for much the same frustration. Get ready for more uncertainty about when, if ever, you'll receive the MME you requested.

But what keeps a lot of us going, there are so many posts like "IT'S WORTH THE WAIT'.

Adding to the list of happy owners.

I've had mine since spring of last year and it's been an interesting experience, but one I'd do all over for sure.

My car was the one affected by:
  • Windshield glass recall
  • Roof glass recall
  • Brake recall

Windshield & roof glass were fine but they needed to be removed and added back. The brakes were just faulty as the plate was attaching which lead to uneven wear and poor braking & shaking wheel.

I was one of the fortunate ones for sure. I put my order in March and a few weeks later after checking the Ford inventory page multiple times a day, I found a dealership 50 miles away getting the Premium ER AWD like I had ordered but in white. We did a swap where I get the car in late May, and they keep my order to sell later (it arrived in early December and SD quickly).

My best to everyone still waiting on theirs. The wait is absolutely worth it.

P.S. used to have a Jeep Cherokee 2018 and every year I'd do my research and test drive cars. Nothing compared or was worth the switch. Then I test drove the MME. Fell in love on the spot.

Oh c'mon ... stop instilling fear over a chip shortage. Unless you've been living under a rock and haven't driven past a car dealership in the last 2 years you should know that the chip shortage is not just for cars. Some of the advanced security equipment that we use at work has 2 year lead times right now.

If people are mad because they have to wait, well that's just life right now. Shutting down the economy and giving out handouts has consequences. What really gets me though is that people aren't proactive about finding a solution to their problem. If you don't want to wait, then search!

I've told my story on here a number of times, I had a GTPE on order, wanted to get it in 2021 and my order kept getting pushed out so I found one across the USA and shipped it to me. The OP has 401 brand new MME's within 200 miles of him (cited). If the dealer you ordered from has one ask them to sell you one on the lot for MSRP and then they can sell yours with ADM when it comes in.

In 3 days, my Premium AWD ER will be one year old. Below is the complete list of problems I have encountered in that year (excluding "problems" that turned out to be "read the manual, dummy.")
1. Nothing
2. Nada
3. Squat
4. Zero
5. Zilch

I think it's possible you are feeling this way because the internet recently has started to explode with good to great feedback on the Ionic 5 and EV6, specifically. Finally, the Mach E has some legitimate non-Tesla competition, and those two cars have some definite leg-ups on the Mach E technology wise.

With that said... the Mach E is still wonderful. In many circles it's still the strongest choice. As was stated earlier, many of the people on forums are the vocal minority voicing complaints - but the silent majority are big fans of the car.

It's pretty much been all said here. I'm in the 1/10 build and had mine put on delay until June 2nd because of the chip shortage.

As disgruntled as I am, I am still stoked to get my MME. I got merch for Christmas, and honestly I just can't wait to get behind the wheel. The car looks gorgeous, the reviews are phenomenal, hell I've test driven it a couple of times and loved it every time.

It's deff not a mistake. Just a crappy time to be producing anything at the moment unfortunately.
