appears to me to be chemical damage from some cleaner that was applied and not removed before affixing the protective plastic.

So…I see eerie similarities here. I bought mine from a Ford dealer just outside Minneapolis. I also purchased the dealer test drive model with about 700 miles on it. My driver side exterior C pillar trim panel had a hazing. For me it wasn’t as severe as yours - and good news is it buffed out. Mine had more of a fractal/lightning like pattern to it. When I looked closely it was starting to show on B pillar both sides too, coming up from the bottom. I didn’t take a pic before having the dealer address it. Odd we are both in Minneapolis…with dealer cars…

The protective film for shipping should be solid white color, so it would be hard to leave it on however it could some residual glue from it that was not cleaned off correctly and reacted with something and turned milky.
Yes. The masking for an assembled vehicle is white. I am talking about the clear masking for the part itself. That protects it while in storage and being handled at the factory.

Man, hit that shit with some Goof Off or Goo Gone, clean it with isopropyl alcohol, dry it, then hit it with 3M Rubbing Compound on a wax applicator. Circular motions until your deltoid(s) burn. Buff that off and more 3M if it’s still not all gone. After it’s gone go to a 3M polishing compound and then, a gloss wax.

It looks like the guy on the assembly line forgot to remove the clear film applied by the manufacturer of the part. The white plastic cover was applied over it, and then removed by the dealer leaving the clear film in place.

Around the lock hieroglyph it looks like it's tenting, but it's not tenting at the button. Have a good look at it and make sure you can't peel a clear film off of it.

You are the first to mention. How would these work over the keypad though? I do like this option in general even once the dealer has fixed it.
I have not installed mine yet but there are cut outs for the keypad and buttons. I have seen some posts that they may have issues coming off in the rain but I cannot confirm this (check the forum for OCD Plug pillar protectors).

Hi all! Wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. One week into ownership my panels started to do this. Only on one side. My car was the dealers owner for all of 800 miles. I park my car inside. This does not scrape away and I did try cleaners to make it come back.

As far as experience goes my original dealer said they would cover it under warranty. That being said it's been about 3 weeks and no word on part ship dates.

I had gone to the dealer closer to my house and they wouldn't even look at it and told me I had to go to a body shop despite it being plastic trim. They instantly got a negative review from me.
One time I tried cleaning that glossy trim with alcohol and it left a white residue kind of like that. I used some Meguiars Ultimate Polish and was able to buff it out eventually.

So I took a gamble. Went out and picked some up....it freaking worked. No idea what got on these, but I had tried several car cleaners/polishers and nothing changed. Lost half my Saturday once. Feeling dumb that this worked after the dealer agreed to warranty it yes, but grateful that this forum made some great suggestions.

I’m over here in awe that there are people who don’t use dark mode on this forum. I forgot there was a light mode until your screenshot

Dark mode? That’s still a thing? I thought that died with CRT terminals in the 1980s ???
Fun fact - I forget which brand it was, but I remember one brand had a dip switch where you could change the setting to be black text on a white background. We would flip that switch on terminals in college just to drive other kids crazy ???
