We use it. It's quite handy
Ok, honest question. Do you think of things you need and order them from Amazon while you are driving? Ask about the status of you deliveries?

I really don't know how or why I would want to use it...

I never made a thread on this (I don't make threads on all my mods). Wasn't too difficult though. Installed a wire in one of the connectors in the Image Processing Module at the rear of the car and brought that wire up to the console (actually did this when I added my subwoofer when I bought the car a year ago). Hooked the wire up to one coming from the connector at the parking switch then had to use FORScan to reconfigure one line on the IPMA. While I was at it, I also reconfigured another line on the IPMA and two lines on the APIM to allow the cameras to be on at any speed. You can easily add a small momentary button wherever you'd like that will work also.

When I get around to it, I can write up a detailed thread in the DIY forum. I am working on designing an air suspension for my car and that is taking up some time. Should have that installed in about two weeks. ?
Wow, I had no idea you could do that in FORScan. Do you know if there is a way to modify when the front camera comes on? For example, after being in reverse and going to drive, shift from rear to front camera on? Or at least increase the sensitivity of the front camera... I feel like I have to hit the freakin' wall before it comes on.

I really hoped these were just placeholder buttons.

These alone ruin the beautiful UI the car shipped with. Never mind the ugly new drive mode selector.

Looks like I may be disabling updates to keep to better looking interface.

I’m super thrilled because I previously posted to this forum the idea of having the screen dial as a multi use input. And Ford actually did it.
They are listening to us.
Please keep the positive upgrade suggestions coming. It improves the vehicle for all of us.
Thank you Ford. Keep the updates coming. It creates real value keeping our cars current.

You've got a 2021 with every update but no frunk button? How is that possible if you have every update? Especially since updates are cumulative.
Updates are NOT cumulative. An update on a specific module may be cumulative, but that means nothing for the other modules in the car. That’s why some people have gotten updates out of order. Doesn’t mean their software went backwards.

Hopefully the extra vertical space they gave CarPlay will fix this odd layout Apple uses. The map being so small and horizontal makes it less useful than the smaller layout.

That is a rather... odd approach to software updates, can't say I've ever seen them done that way before...

They're honestly not that bad, I can see why they replaced the car with a home icon, it's more intuitive though probably wasn't a real issue. The second button probably could have been a better design but it gets the point across well enough I suppose.

Replacing the custom themed buttons for the drive modes on the otherhand is a bit of a headscratcher for me...

“Odd” is a polite way to put it.

Basically each update addresses one, sometimes 2 or 3, of the dozens of modules in the car. so just because you may have received 3.6.1, doesn’t mean you’ve had all the updates prior. Also some updates don’t get pushed out OTA, just ask any Job 1 2021 owner who’s still waiting for their frunk buttons lol.

Ford Is very stuck in an old way of thinking when it comes to software.

The really sad part is looking around at other automakers Ford is arguably doing the "best" job of legacy auto when it comes to pushing software updates and expanding features at all. Seems to be a bit of a low bar though.

Nope, those are real. They’re all over the 2023 owners manual.
That is unfortunate. This is MyFord Touch all over again.
“Let’s roll out a pretty UI and not care if it works.” “Oh it glitchy? Let’s strip out all the pretty and make it minimalist and bland”.

They could have kept the car icon and added a settings button to match. The car button looks so much nicer than the Microsoft Word clip art icons they went with. I guarantee they were just lazy and wanted to simplify the UI so they didn’t have to customize it to each car.

I didn't look or tinker around for that. As long as you are going less than 5 mph, anytime you push the camera switch, you get the front view. Over 5 mph will only get the rear view. There might be a way to increase the sensitivity of the obstical warning system but haven't looked into that either.
