IMHO you'd have to really hate Tesla to choose a MME Prem AWD ER over a Model Y LR at today's prices. There's no way Ford will keep their 2023 prices unless they're content not selling MME's.This may actually help drive MME prices down in the long run. But come on, does anyone really want a Tesla just because they're cheaper?
They are, they will buy another one. ?It would be awesome to see that happen at Tesla HQ in California. Unfortunately, Americans are not so motivated.
It's more about what this means. What will these price cuts do to the used car market? Are they definitive or just a sale because tesla is building inventory? That’s cool and all, I wouldn’t buy a Muskmobile, ever.
Yeah 100%. Master move by Musk. Now that he is profitable and have excellent operations and gains of scale, he is the only one who can do this now.Ford is gonna see a lot of cancellations for MME with this price delta. MME 4X starts at $66k with zero tax credit vs $46,990 (after the $7500) for the Model Y LR. For $20k, a lot of people will talk themselves out of a MME and into a Model Y.
If Ford drops prices to match Tesla’s move to get under $55k, that’s gonna hurt Ford’s financials. And that’s not even counting the HVBJBs that are adding up at like $3k/pop.
Have you read this thread? Ford is in trouble if they don't drop prices a lot.does anyone really want a Tesla just because they're cheaper?
if I was in the market right now, that 7 seater model Y is really tempting with the full tax credit.
I just ordered 1 model y long range and model 3 long range for me and my wife .included 7k5 federal plus cali gonna give extra rebate for sticker under 60k after feb
Its is crazy deal
Just snagged a MYLR. Deal is too good to pass imo
I’m sorry Ford but despite how much I like my Mach-e, there is no way I would pay $20k more for it over the model y If I was to buy now
I also think this is a game changer. With tax credits for the next 3 months, this is the lowest a Tesla has ever been. Now that the MME has gone up in price and doesn't qualify for $7500, it's a no-brainer. It was also a no-brainer for me since I can swap out for free while gaining AWD and a happy wife who's always wanted a Tesla.
The price has gone down in the UK also. I would definitely get a Model Y if I was purchasing one today.
Welp, time to jump to tesla. Just bought a model y with induction wheels for 54,990, will get 7500 and will trade either my '21 or '22 based on which makes more sense.
We didn’t say they “would jack up their prices….”whatever happened to people saying Tesla and car makers would jack up their prices because of the tax rebate? seems like the opposite is happening.
to be fair the IRS hard cap on the price seems to also be playing a role herewhatever happened to people saying Tesla and car makers would jack up their prices because of the tax rebate? seems like the opposite is happening.
Tesla's margins just declined by 50%.Have you read this thread? Ford is in trouble if they don't drop prices a lot.
I'm seriously considering another Tesla. We have a model Y and MME premium ER. Model Y is preferred by everyone in the family and MME gets rarely driven now. Plus winter range MME is way lower than Tesla (20-40F, below 20 Tesla starts dropping more).Btw, I think in my state (MA) this also brings the Model Y LR into range for another $3500 rebate. So if you're income is under the federal cap and you live in MA, I believe you might walk away with a Model Y LR for $42k. You'd have to have very strong convictions to pay $23k more for a comparable MME.
