Never said he did anything illegal.

You’re just further proving my guess about you that you think that “legal” and “moral” are the same thing.

My point is that you can do things that are perfectly legal, within the rules, and still be a scumbag.

And taking advantage of government money and using your money and influence to change laws that result in you being the richest person in the country…….. makes you a scumbag.

A perfectly legal rule abiding scumbag.
You should thank Elon Musk. If it weren't for him persevering through all of the resistance from the established powers who did not, and still do not, want EV's to succeed, you wouldn't be driving a Ford Mustang Mach E. It is through Tesla's efforts that Legacy has been forced, reluctantly, to follow suit.

Ah, you’re one of those people that think that “legal” and “moral” are the same thing?

Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

He doesn’t just “follow the rules” he lobbies to change the rules to his favor.
And then he complains about America and it’s ills

Tesla lowered prices significantly to get their models under the tax credit cap. Since then, they have lowered prices even more. Which companies are you referring to...thats a really crappy way to do business!
Ah, that was in 2023.

You need the history lesson of what Tesla did BEFORE this desperation move to increase revenue this year.

When the law looked like it would pass to include Tesla models, the price of the Model Y went up by $12,000.

I do.

Unlike many people who take a crazy person like Musk or Trump and label them “all bad,” I recognize that crazy people can do some good things too.

It’s ok to agree with some of the things that these narcissists do or say.

But I also recognize the crazy things.

That IS changing the narrative!!

You’re redefining failure as success.
Doesn’t matter if he said it before, during or after. It’s complete BS.

Blowing up $3 billion rockets in a test is a failure.

He’s the kinda guy who will bet on every horse so it’s “impossible to lose.”

To be clear, he said 50/50 on it blowing up. Still a failure when it did.

What’s next? Is he going to convince you and shareholders that declining profits this year is a good thing because it’s a “learning experience to make more money next year?”

It’s insane to believe the ramblings of a crazy person. To be clear, I do know that his insanity is what got him here, but we don’t need to follow the rabbit all the way down the tunnel.
Here are a few stories about failing forward that might help you understand the philosophy. It has foundations in Agile Methodologies with constant iterations.

I post my personal experience with Ford here often when it comes to price cuts. In January 2020 we purchased a new 2019 Ford Expedition Platinum and got $9000 discount off MSRP. We also got several percent off on financing (I forget the exact number but it was a GREAT deal) we also got something else like floor mats. That would total more than $12,000 in price cuts over the life of the loan. What is the difference?
One can cut or increase price immediately and the other does it via rebates, special finance, and other ways. As a customer the end goal is the same.

Or maybe Musk is hoping that no one will remember that it was already done 53 years ago, and no one died doing it.
The nation’s Moon landing program suffered a shocking setback on Jan. 27, 1967, with the deaths of Apollo 1 astronauts Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, Edward H. White, and Roger B. Chaffee in a flash fire aboard their spacecraft during a ground test on the launch pad.

If Ford makes an offer for my 54 week ordered MME, I might consider it but right now, we are looking to pass on ours even with a '22 pricing.

Ford really dropped the ball on our order.

Can't understand their god awful logistics and lack of transparency with the MME ordering.

OTOH my '22 Lightning order was very fast and straightforward - 3 months from build to delivery.

Why Ford can't learn a lesson from their REVC LIghtning production line - I am stumped.

Wife is now interested in the Tesla Y and wants to see it this weekend....

That's not true. Those price increases went into effect long before the IRA was even drafted. That's simple a matter of easily googled fact.

And Tesla's price model is WAY different than say Ford's. Ford just let dealers gouge you with $20k "market adjustments".

You are trying to make Tesla/Elon out to be a villain with that argument, but the facts are that every last automaker did the same thing. How much has the Ford F-150 Lightning increased in cost? And they haven't brought MSRP back down on that one.

Will Ford not let you pick up an existing car from a dealer with same/similar specs? Just a quick search in SoCal on the Ford site shows a good bit of inventory.

That really sucks for you and I understand it would leave a bad taste.
We bought at the height last year in May and paid ADM because we couldn't order and didn't want to wait. Lucky my $9K rebate on our last purchased Ford helped offset the ADM. We have lots of MME on dealer lots on Texas right now. I can't believe how slow Ford is at moving cars to dealerships and customers. That has to be impacting the bottom line as others have posted before about abandoning orders because of long delivery delays.
For good or bad right now you could probably go to Tesla store and test drive one and then order and get it the same day in many large cities. Only the performance models are delayed based on my recent searches. You can even go and get a Ioniq 5 or a Polestar 2 right off the dealer lot here in Austin. BMW i4 was only a couple of weeks wait when I looked last week. EVs along with all other cars are just not selling with the economy being what it is right now.

Unfortunately not - my ordered MME has the '22 pricing, 4.49% APR, $2000 incentive attached.

If the dealer could transfer it to an on lot MME then it would be worth it.

And if Ford does a goodwill offer to compensate me for the $3750 tax credit lost after 4/18, I'd re-consider.

Yes, my wife wants to test drive a Tesla Y this weekend - looking at the base model.
Not sure about the lack of the driver info screen I am so used to....

Lots of neighbors and friends have Y and moved over from "normal" cars and they have told me they are comfortable with single screen now. I still like the MachE driver screen a lot.

Don’t need them. I understand learning from your mistakes.

I don’t get cheering for an actual disaster.
