Just because there was more sacrifice during WWII doesn't mean "100%" were using mass transit to get anywhere. You're grossly exaggerating, again.

Besides, few people other than yourself would pine for WWII-level sacrifice in their normal life.

Mass transit is fine when you have a bunch of people coming from A and going to B. It's a terribly inefficient use of time, though, when the first guy is going from A to Z, the second guy from B to Y, the third from C to X, and so on.

I can take my kid to school in 4 minutes. If he takes the bus, it takes 22 minutes. That's 36 minutes a day not spent playing sports, or studying, or playing with his friends, or being with his family.

I value my time, my family's time, and I'll keep my cars, thank you.

You just completely ignored everything we told you. There's equipment costs. There's installation costs. There's ongoing maintenance costs. There's administrative costs. There's often space rental costs. There's often demand charges. You just choose to ignore all that and pretend that the spread in the base electricity rate is all that matters, which of course is grossly inaccurate.

And just because BEVs are growing and there's more usage of chargers than there was a year or two ago doesn't automatically mean they're anywhere close to being profitable.

No one looked at WWII life in the US as a sacrifice?!?!? ?

Good lord, this is just comical. And a complete waste of time trying to talk logic and reason (and especially business) with you.

Funny to be advocating for everyone giving up the freedom that their automobiles provide in a forum full of people exciting about a new car they're about to buy.

What's next, communes?

Which will end up discouraging people from taking the BEV for the drive to the relatives 200 miles away (needing a recharge or two along the way). Encouraging them to just take the ICE instead.

I could see Tesla deploy free unlimited charging for more customers. Owning their own network (which they do because of early necessity), and operating it at a loss (which they do by choice), can make for a compelling competitive advantage. VW could do the same, if it chose to wield Electrify America in favor of their own sales. As more EVs reach the market, these types of differentiators could become important.
