Whatever method FDRS uses to do a file copy is also a factor. You will never get full speed transfers on a PC using FDRS until they change how the app does the file copy.

Still no GWM and APIM! Hoping we're getting close. Someone just reported getting 3.6.2 and then getting 4.1.2 shortly after. Maybe they fixed why we're all "stuck" with the 3.6.2 updates that were done?

This is the FDRS thread, most of the people here, while not having received 3.6.2 OTA, did the updates themselves that gave them 3.6.2.

Title says alternative to FORScan. Is it possible to update with FORScan? Entry price seems a LOT lower with that.

No, you unfortunately need FDRS to do the updates. FORScan just lets you change hidden settings, I guess is one way to put it.

Thank you, was wondering why people would use FDRS if that was the case considering the difference in price with the devices need, but that makes sense now.

Taking my car into the dealer for it's service and to have the outstanding updates applied. I have the GWM so will ask them to do that first. Hopefully that will then enable the APIM update. I do have a question though. Back in September they tried and failed to update the APIM. I just bought a 1 hour license for FDRS and looked up what they did. It appears they tried a few times but got battery warnings (it was connected to a power supply) and an error saying "Downloading USB software has failed: Manifest not found in Fenix responses". Has anyone else seen this?

Most likely due to an internet connection or server side issue.

My 1st self-directed FDRS module update is complete.

Many many thanks to those members who have blazed the DIY FDRS trail before me, making my way straighter and more sure-footed.

Oh Boy how I wish that Sonny Boy and I had known all this while we lived with our two (2013 and 2015) Fusion Energis! Back then, we thought that ForScan couldn't be topped as a DIY software program.

...and yes, once I finally get around to installing and activating the Ford of Europe tow module and wiring kit, guess what I'll use FDRS for? The towing module activation is listed right there.
