The Complete DIY Guide to Updating Your Mach-E with FDRS

I've been using the same inexpensive Samsung USB stick for 3 years. Last night I popped an APIM update on it and for a 6gig update I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the Mach-E gobbled it down.

My first APIM update on the Mach-E.
I've done MANY on the trucks.

There was a delay on how long it took for Sync4 to acknowledge the USB stick had an update on it, but once it did, as I stated, it made quick work of it.

By the way, the truck updates never gave the open door and 10 minutes suggestion. Worked like a charm!

So am I caught up? Or is there one more that should be queuing up shortly?

And the FDRS instructions still don't match what it says to do on the Sync screen either.

Actually, FDRS couldn't even fetch me that APIM update. It was "harvested" for me by a guru.
Not really that bothered since the car isn't misbehaving in any way that I have picked up on.

So for those who don't know yet...if you do the DSP update there is a very good chance that it won't clear from your available list in FDRS.

It has not cleared on mine nor the other three cars I've updated this past two weeks. Will it eventually drop off?

Funny on mine the DSP completed and dropped right off. But still no APIM update popping for me.
The update gods have cursed me.

You're not alone. I haven't gotten the APIM update nor the three others I've updated recently. Mine: '21 J2, others 21 J1, 22, 23

My neighbor just got his new APIM update yesterday OTA. 21job1. I’m still waiting 21job2. I did my DSP two weeks ago don’t know if it disappeared.

So, any thoughts as to preferred order to do updates in FDRS? This is my list as of last week:

GWM, APIM, TCU in that order followed by whatever you like.
Be aware that some modules are linked together for updates so if you start a PSCM update you may also have to do ABS, BCM, Etc if they have those as a requisite for the other update.

Start with the APIM, and if that releases a GWM, do that until all GWM, APIM and TCU updates no longer show. From there I'd do the powertrain set.
