To tint or not? Any regrets?

In PA, the tint laws are extremely vague and unenforced.
I went with 20% on the fronts to match the factory rears; this was XPEL tint.
Pics below before, and then 2 after shots.

Nice!

I’d love to have done that on mine. Alas though, we have annual safety inspections and they use a meter on tinted windows. :)

Never once have I questioned getting tint. It is a must. 35% legal here in Indiana but don't matter always 20% ceramic tint. It just looks so much cleaner and better matching and keep it cooler. Once you got down to 5% and get the double banner or massive banners or tinted windshield that's when you run into trouble. If they are pulling you over for tint then they are out fishing. It's the first stop on the way home from the stealership.

I’ve been looking at getting the NanoFlex tint put on. State of WI says the front windows max can only be 50% though, which kinda sucks. I just wish I could see what it looks like first.

im also thinking of a clear tint for the windshield for the IR.

my wife and I were on the fence in general but just yesterday we were talking about how we were starting to get a bit uncomfortable with how much attention we are getting, so now we are probably gonna take the jump into it.

Is there any tint or coating that people add to the sunroof or is the IRR it comes with good enough? What about a protector for the top, like Brays for the windshield?
I use Jescar Power Lock Plus for the glass roof and rear doors. It's as close to ceramic as you'll get, gives a great shine, and extremely hydrophobic for months.

Also use this on top of Ceramic as it's an amazing sealant that actually gives some depth to the paint, which is rare.

This has been discussed a lot. Living in Phoenix I have not felt any need to add anything to the roof. I've also heard more than once that tinting a sunroof, especially when it has IR coatings, can cause it to break.
We have felt almost no heat radiating from the roof. We have no intention on tinting our pano roof. I believe the windshield also has some sort of IR coating.

Has anyone used Llumar AIR? I’m thinking of adding that to the front side windows and windshield for UV protection. I also want to get the Bray windshield protector film.

has anyone tried an external protector for rocks and such on the glass roof, like Bray or something else?

I have horrible luck when it comes to windshields. Every single car I’ve owned I’ve had to replace at least twice, so finding the Bray product was like a miracle. But now I worry about the second glass on top and wonder if it could benefit from the same protection. I’m just new to this stuff and it’s a little overwhelming how much is out there. Thanks in advance.

Tint it for sure!

Had the front done with 35% nano ceramic from Llumar - it really keeps the temperature and glare down.
mine was the same and in texas has helped keep the car cool

That is absurd. Why is such a thing part of inspection?
Seems you need to find yourself a crooked mechanic out there for inspections :)

Thorough safety inspection. For the most part they’re very good. Some people, for example, complained about the rule against tires extending out past the wheel well flares or fenders (beyond some amount). Yes I personally know 3 people who’ve but hit by cars while biking where the cameras caught the hit … from the tires.

The police like the tint laws as they are. Reason? They can tell if someone else is in the car beyond a driver. Not a 100% coverall though.

honestly a 65% tint is nice enough for me. 70% would be better though. Anyway at 65% people know someone is in the MME but not who. And for certain reasons, I like it that way. ;)

Looks great, thanks for the pics! I wouldn’t mind going a shade lighter on the fronts. That price seems reasonable as well.
I got mine tinted to match the rear windows for $125

What about tinting the rear sides or hatch for heat reduction to help keep my kid from frying in the back seat? Does the factory tint on the rear windows already do a good job of heat rejection or would putting a layer of 60-70% ceramic tint on all side windows be worth it (I don't want something that is hard to see out at night)?

I got the same film applied to my front windows. It’s the best match to factory tint I’ve had on my 4 vehicles that I’ve tinted.

Highly recommended, it looks fantastic.
