Great writeup. Hopefully the center arm rest won't be a big deal - but now I'm gonna be thinking about that the first time I sit in one! I also wish the left side driver's knee button cluster included a physical button for opening the trunk - rather than max defrost. Kinda weird design choice.

I'd love to know more about all the autonomous driving features. I've seen some usage in the videos (the "bubble" or "shields" etc.) but still have no actual idea how it all works.

Since you’re getting multiple turns with it, I’m interested in knowing if there are any quirks that weren’t obvious the first time you got in and that we should be mindful of when we get a chance to test drive it to see if it bothers us or not.

Not looking for reasons to criticize the car, but at this point, super excited to get the Mach-E and maybe that’s not the best place to have your head at before going to the dealership to decide if you really wanna pull the trigger on a purchase of this size!
This will be a different mache, not the same one also.

That was an EA 150-350kW charger at the Corvette Museum. 41 minutes to go 14-75% SOC. I hope an OTA update can help make this a little faster.
That’s pretty much what Ford promised.

If it’s a different battery size and powertrain, would really be interested in your thoughts on how the AWD might drive compared to the RWD in acceleration or how the ER drives compared to the SR, especially with handling.

My guess is that Ford doesn’t have faith in the dealer to install it correctly or they want to leave nothing to go wrong.

I agree and bummer.
If Ford doesn’t trust BEV certified dealers to install a license plate ...

Yep. It seems like there's no reason to make it manual at all.

I wonder what simply putting it in P "gear" does? Is it just engaged to the motor(s), and if they slip, the car rolls? Are there other brakes or clamps that get engaged? And what extra level of hold does the electronic parking brake add? I suspect it's all quite a bit different than we're used to in ICE cars that still have a physical cable system.
I would have to believe there is a parking pawl, to mechanically prevent the drive gear from turning.

I called in recently to my dealership and asked that my plate not be installed and they said okay, easiest dealer interaction I've ever had. Also WA owners Front plates are arguably not required depending on which officer you talked to ( RCW 46.16A.200 (5)(b) )

Sure. But that will only really apply if it's not already installed when it arrives at the dealer. All evidence thus far suggests that they're installed at the factory for states that require them.

If you're able to get a freeway efficiency snapshot, that'd be cool. Like, 70mph with climate control set to like 68-72F and arse warmers on.

Interesting if they do, that's one thing Tesla has cost-reduced out of their EVs. Not saying either way is better, but a park pawl is not cheap, so it's interesting Ford kept one in when they had "cover" to not.

One thing I have been wondering. There are EV spares available from 3rd party vendors. If you took that thing out that holds the fix a flat and air pump, is there enough clearance with the shelf in the higher position for an EV donut spare? What would be the clearance?
