I am very puzzled why anyone would even think this could have been an "April fools" thing. It would have been unforgiveable.
To be honest the comments on Facebook group gave me a small cause for concern but I trusted the information based on how helpful Grahame and others on here have been in the past.

If had been just you then that would’ve been different! ?

It’s just typical of this process that Ford chose April Fool’s day to confirm it!?

Still haven't hear from my dealer , despite emailing two days ago. But amazing news from Ford ( if not an admittance of not completing PICG registration in a timely manner ). My contract still shows the £3000 grant. I ordered on the 2nd March 2021, so hopefully they'll get the grant for my car anyway.

and another good thing out of this for those who are getting this deal....

these cars will be retailing now at the current price which is £3k more, which means driving home with a car which is immediately worth £3k more!

(sorry to hear that the First Editions etc will not get this deal)

I just received the news of the PICG decision from Hannah via email without asking which was fantastic service from her.

I am sure my dealer will let me know in a week or so :)

Very happy this is now sorted and can move on with the purchase.

Right, another bit of info and as we are past 1200 this is DEFINATELY NOT an April fool. It would seem that Ford will be covering the £3000 for all customers who ordered and signed up before the 17th March. I have just received an email from Rebecca and the most of it was what I had already posted from my dealer. However there was a sentence that was in her email that wasn't on what my dealer sent me. This is it.

We are currently in the process of collating the required documentation to ensure that the subsidy is applied to qualifying orders.

Now I have been told that dealers need to get the information to Ford by 6 April. My dealer says that he believes that this relates to customers who went to their dealers and signed their order in front of their dealer. Orders that were docu-signed online (like I did) when confirming the order should already be in the system. My advice is to those who signed the order in person is that you check with your dealer that the paperwork was sent to Ford. If not then he better get a move on. If I hear anything else I'll let you know.

I’ve just had the same email from Hannah confirming the position regarding the grant.

She has confirmed that all orders placed prior to the 17th March, which would have qualified for the grant, will still qualify for the £3,000. ????

What I don't understand is why has the £3000 reduction been taken off my car ie it has gone up to 51K. Hopefully it is just fords heavy handed IT but if it wasn't for Grahame and his news this morning I would have cancelled. I wonder how many people not in this group have cancelled when the price increased £3k.

I've just googled "office" to work out what you're referring to!
It's where the "Over 50's" vaccinated people go to work all in the same place, bounce ideas off of each other and can see when other people are talking about them behind their back!

I am soooooo bored at work. Good job the boss is working from home. I posted a link the other day to an article that said that 1500 MME's would be delivered to Antwerp by the end of March. I have just looked again at the photo of the carpark in Antwerp that was posted earlier and counted (told you I was bored) the cars that are there. Give or take a couple there are 1498 parked waiting for things to happen. Lets hope that the "additional QC checks" are carried out quickly.
Still bored? I've being trying to call Grimaldi to get more info on the Marie Celeste, whoops I mean Gral San Martin. Any chance you can use your contact there to get us the inside scoop.

As a side note, I spoke to a very close friend of mine who is CEO of a major UK Freight Forwarding company this morning. He told me that ships that service different parts of the world very rarely and only in very extreme circumstances, deviate from the area that they service so he would be VERY surprised if the ship was coming to Europe. He said our best hope is that Ford have just been told the wrong vessel name and the 2nd best option would be that the cars are switching vessels in Baltimore.

I think this saga has a few more weeks to run, in the meantime I will let Hannah know what I have found out.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Mine has changed back to the full price as well. I have just looked. My theory is that because initially it listed the £3000 off as the PICG, which as we all know is now not applicable, they are having to account for the discount in another way. Dealer discount or price reduction or something along those lines. Not being clued up on IT matters I assume that the parameters are the same for all. Therefore they have to account for the "discount" differently. I have a contract that says my price is £46980 and a statement from Ford to say that they will cover the cost of the PICG.

That was my thinking in a post the other day. If they were running short of room in the car park they moved some cars onto the GSM to take them to Baltimore and wait for the Florida or Halifax. We will see later. She is due to leave port today.

I have also received an email from Hannah confirming the good news! Definitely not an April Fools! I have to say actually, that Hannah has been a brilliant example of customer service, she has been really helpful and also friendly, pinging emails to and fro it's almost been like chatting to a friend! Much better than some companies I've contacted where they can be very stuffy and uncooperative! I think Hannah needs to pass her skills on to the dealers, then Ford might overall be a much better company to deal with!!!
To those who have been complaining about the time it's taken, while to a certain extent I agree, don't forget that as a business, they don't want to have to pay loads of £3000's when it's not their fault, so they couldn't let on that that could happen or the government straight away would have said no, because obviously they don't want to pay either! It's only now where it's become obvious that the government won't budge, that they've sent out the comms they have. It's been a balancing act for Ford, between doing the right thing for their customers, but minimising the financial damage - I guess they will make little if any profit on the affected Mach E's now.

These cars will be better travelled than Alan Wicker (showing my age) or Judith Chalmers (For the slightly younger) and if you cant remember either of those, Go away, I'm jealous that you can buy a car like this at your age!
