All of us in our Company who ordered in Nov/Dec have now been told that the delivery date which was initially March, then May and June, is now "likely" to be in July but "realistically, it may be August". Apparently this is due to more checks needed before delivery. Can't vouch for this info, it came from our Fleet Dept via the Lease Company, so it maybe that they are setting expectations low and then deliver early (if you consider June early!) so we all say how great Ford are.

View in#7 is bang on the money for me around training for Ford employees and a dedicated Ford EV support section. A very good point and not so good about the charger hopefully we will have one that works more ??

Ford says that it will be rolled out only for mapped divided highways. They have mapped roads in the US but I haven't seen anything to say that they have done similar in UK or whether it will be different here. Not sure I would want to pay extra for it either if there is an additional cost which there probably will be.

The report was poor. It conflated autonomous driving with intelligent ALK and also said that with autonomous you could sit back and read a paper and not watch the road

As I have said many times before, I do not believe that Rebecca and Hannah are "ignoring" us, it's just they can't tell us anything, either because they don't know or that they aren't allowed to tell us.. I also think that FordUK are being very restrained by FordUS in what information they can release. Like you say, the lack of communication is NOT just limited to us. I think that there are a couple of reasons why our delivery dates keep moving back. The first, as I mentioned earlier, is that they have found more issues than they first thought. Secondly, they are keeping back the processed/fixed cars to ship in a large batch. Thirdly, once again as I have said before, that as more cars arrive in Antwerp the LHD versions are being prioritised over our RHD cars so ours then go to the back of the queue. As always this is only my humble opinion tinged with a large dose of sour grapes. I can understand and sympathise with you regarding pulling the plug. I am there too. 2 reasons for me sticking with it for now, there is nothing else around that I feel I can live with and as I spent far too much in getting my garage extended and fitted out to accept the MME I am reluctant to give up (just yet anyway). I am sure that behind the scenes there are people who understand our frustrations and gripes and are doing their upmost to get us some information

As @SteveUk noted, the What Car comparison against the ID.4 was very disparaging of the MMEs ride and handling - so much so it was probably this factor alone that meant the ID.4 came out on top.

This has been one of the two main concerns I have with the MME, the other being ground clearance.

Following some of the recent "test drive" reviews on this forum over the last couple of weeks, if I recall correctly, the overall feedback on the ride was positive (and certainly my "ground clearance" concerns were somewaht reduced ?)

My concern with this issue is that the "bouncy" ride and handling appears to be totally inconsistent, even across the same MME models.

Whilst most journalists/commentators (both US and UK) agree the suspension is "firm", some reviews say the ride is comfortable and the suspension absorbs the bumps well, whereas others (including some of the UK reviews) have highlighted the bouncy/jiggling ride .... and What Car was not the first UK publication to call it "very annoying".

All of which is ......... very annoying ?

I could understand this when I travel some of the concrete sections of the M25 (especially between the M23 and A3) and surprisingly some of the US concrete roads look just as bad - but the issue seems broader than this.

There is an extensive thread on this (see https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...with-the-mach-e-what-do-i-do.4642/post-137491 ) where Ford in the US are looking into one specific example, but the outcome as yet is inconclusive.

Anyway, apologies for the rather lengthy post - would be interested in any thoughts on this!

I suspect the weight of the battery might be the cause in come conditions.

also tyre pressures might have an impact too

I suspect we wont know for sure about the ride until after we start taking deliveries.

Not sure, having spent the middle part of my working life being a senior vehicle tech plus involved in saloon car racing (not driving) I know that anything can be done with the suspension,especially as it's a simple coil spring system.

spring rates
Damper settings
Rubber bush compliance
Geometry
Tyre spec

All these can be altered to tune the suspension, either firm and sporty or soft and comfortable and all points in-between.

But all these components need time to bed in. Often a few thousand miles (but not normally more than a couple of thousand)

Ford has had a good reputation for designing cars with good ride and handling over the years. My feeling is the car will need time to settle in. Personally I would expect it to feel a bit harsh when new, hence why I wondered what the mileage of our test cars was.

The other thing that puzzles me -what is this bounce we hear about? Is this being confused with a hard ride- or is it the bounce you get with worn shock absorbers?

Sorry- just rambling again... ?

I just wonder how long we can wait before pull the plug? I’m just on the edge. I don’t know did I really want to wait to spend that amount of money for something :
1.I really don’t know when I will have it
2.With a lost of problems which I really don’t know exactly
3. Treated like sh... in case of communication
4. Something which is very unknown for people which I expect to fix future problems with this car
I like this car, I really like it, I wait wait nearly one and a half years but I see only negative things now.
I need to see something positive to keep me going!

You guys know I've been in from the very beginning having placed my pre-order way back in December 2019, and I've managed to stay loyal and true to the cause the whole time.

I'm new to Ford. I've consistently bought and owned Japanese cars (Mazdas & Toyotas) for the last 30 years, it took a lot to steal me away from that reliability and service I'd come to know and love (not to mention the great dealership relationship). What finally caused me to defect was Toyota's absolute refusal to produce a full EV (yes I know that stance has changed this week - but that's a separate point for another day)

I was swayed by the prospect of the first shiny new EV from Ford that ticked all my boxes, and as a result I invested huge amounts of time and resources into this vehicle. I became a Mach-E evangelist for anybody who needed help or advice, and in some respects it's been the one thing to keep me going throughout this whole COVID crap-fest over the last year.

Not once have I wobbled or threatened to walk away - even in the darkest days of order conversion delays, production delays, shipping delays, & even changes to the Government EV grants .... that is until now.

While out for a walk today sitting on a quiet bench in the countryside I had the opportunity to sit and reflect on the events of the last 17 months, and for the first time I had doubts about if this was actually the right car for me. I've never considered spending soo much money on a car before, hell this car is costing nearly as much as I payed for my first mortgage! (and that was only 20 yrs ago!)... and what am I getting for it? Well I'm being treated like dirt and kept in the dark! Ford UK's utter contempt for customers is frankly astonishing.

This evening seeing more posts about delivery estimates slipping even further, more Technical Service Bulletins coming to light, and absolutely no reassurances from Ford, I like many of you, find myself teetering on the brink of saying "f£%k it" and asking for a deposit refund.

I've committed so much (personalised Mach-E plates bought, terminated the lease on my existing car - and handed it back as I should have already got my MME) and yet the thought of not going ahead does not bother me one bit. That speaks volumes to me.

Sorry for the long post - so may of us have written similar outpourings of dissatisfaction and considered throwing in the towel - didn't envisage it would be my turn tonight!
