Today is the day! Is anyone aware about whether the cars come with free internet subscription for an initial period? If so does it require activating etc? Thank you as always.

Congratutations! You’re gonna love it!

When you say free internet - not sure what you mean? Are you talking about the In car wi-fi for passenger use? That has a 1 month trial with Vodafone, you then have to sign up for at £23 per month if you want to continue.

To activate that trial go to https://internetinthecar.vodafone.com/

The car itself has it’s own access to the web via a seperate modem via the telematics system, it uses that for OTA updates and Navigation tools such as live traffic. You don’t have direct access to that one, and it’s included for free for the first 5 yrs of ownership.

Hope that answers your question :)

Initial reports I’m seeing from those that have run the new IPC update is that it brings the display characteristics on Job1 cars up to the same as those on Job2 cars. (Thicker right hand borders on alert boxes with an integrated ā€œOKā€ icon) … but there may be lots of other stuff in there too … we’ll find out on Friday :)

63 miles range with 56% charge, you must have a heavy right foot? ?

Not my car - was one of the guys in the US who had done the IPC update ?

I drive like a saint ? (taken this Monday - so not in summer!) Just to be clear I do mostly urban driving with no dual carriageway or motorway time, and on flat roads.

It was the second bit, I was wondering where the live traffic updates come from via a subscription or not. Happy days that it doesn’t! Thank you as always Wonkey, the font of Mach E knowledge!

Cheers mate also stand bye for more questions when I pick it up and my primitive mind becomes very confused! Ha

Don't forget also that the car is always in contact with Ford's cloud system, which is why you can get realtime info on your FP app (most of the time) and the car receives OTA updates. That must cause a small drain on the system too. If you have a dashcam fitted and it has a motion sensor setup, that will have an affect as well. Although it seems that the car is "off", it never really is.
Which is true, but every Mach E is in the same boat in that respect so I still don't understand why mine gets this message and most others don't! According to FP my car has already gone to sleep today and I only parked up an hour ago!!! I did wonder if an OTA was in progress because on Sunday the big screen suddenly switched to light mode when starting the car (I always have dark mode) but it still says 1.6

Mine constantly switches light/dark even though I have it set to dark. Just one of the many lovely bugs ?

I’ve just updated my own IPC module as I thought it a bit mean to do Walt’s on Friday not knowing what was involved for that specific update.

Interesting three step process on this one with a bit of USB stick action, followed by an Ignition on programming piece, followed by an Ignition off programming piece.

And the before and after are…

Personally I like the new look alerts - but they are Left Hand Drive biased (spot the icon for ā€œDriver door openā€)

Don’t dealers provide a job sheet for the safety recall which lists out what all work will be carried out? Going by some posts in other threads it feels like all dealers don’t .

I'm booked in for my first service on the 13th/14th March (they said it may be 2 days due to the updates) so hopefully I should be fully up to date after that...

since 1700 when I picked it up I’ve driven 80 miles and it is absolutely phenomenal. I test drove the polestar 2 and I was concerned that I would regret going for the Mach E. I absolutely do not.

It’s going to be a while to figure everything out, range wise when it was handed over 93% 207mi (std rwd). Now says 48% 87miles. However, I believe Wonkey said there is a period of learning the car does. Being up north the temp is between 2 and 5 degrees. I also have the heating fan on 1 and 22 degrees in the cabin. Also been ā€œtestingā€ the speed. Which again is brilliant.

The main thing that stands out for me is the quality of the cabin. Very comfortable! The screen is user friendly.

Very early days (not had it a day yet). But I am beyond impressed.

I will post pictures when I get a chance (weather is crap up here at the moment).

2 negatives so far (and I am being picky) no power assisted boot or fold in mirrors.

So glad you are chuffed with the car. I too am up North, spring is on its way! I don’t quite get the lack of fold in mirrors on a Ā£41k car but I’ll live without it! My Mrs new Zoe we got 2 weeks ago even has them! And sweeping indicators which I thought....Oooh. Last time is seen those was on golf gte in 2018. Obviously not very often as always in the car! Little things. Enjoy your car. ??? look forward to the pics!
