To those who seem to have vehicles stuck in Pre-Production phase - I’m not sure if you’ve seen the news elsewhere on this forum but many motor manufacturers have had to either slow or pause production due to parts shortages from China.

The biggest blocker at the moment is the lack of semiconductors. If you look just at this forum alone you will see people who had a build week of late January repeatedly put back week after week.

The one and only positive is it’s helping the guys in Mexico clear the shipping backlog on cars already produced at the plant.

Not good for those who are waiting for cars to be assembled - but it’s a plausible reason why things have suddenly ground to a halt.

So I got impatient as one of the few December builds still ‘In Production’ on the tracker, so I tried Wonkey’s trick of activating the car to see where it’s at!

The pending request got confirmed in just a few minutes, and I can see it in the same position as Wonkey’s was (displaying in Kms for some reason).

Was this where yours was Wonkey waiting for the train?

So I pre-ordered a year ago, confirmed my order the same day they emails in December and now they slipped three months.very sh*te indeed. :-(

You dont need to cancel unless you need the dosh back. I'd keep it as a backup option.

Just hang on in there. My thoughts were that in the main the earlier build cars are taking a bit longer to move because they were parked up first. Mine, we think, was made before @Wonky_Donkey so was parked up first with his behind mine. That's why his was "shipped" first. Yours was made before mine so I imagine yours will be done in the next couple of days. Fingers ?

Thanks! I think things might be happening right now, as it’s clocked an extra 1km since an hour ago and now I seem to have lost the link to it from the app as the odometer and charge numbers have disappeared suddenly. Hopefully a good sign - all aboard the Veracruz train?!

Hmmm not sure to be honest. I do t like the Y. iPace is out of date and £15k too much money. I’ll probably look to keep my Discovery as it just does the job and see what’s around.

I've tried to activate mine many times but it refuses!
It's all in the timing - if it gets declined - resend another request.

Normally the decline is because someone was in it and bypassed the request. If you resubmit immediately they tend to OK it for you as they know it's going to get a master factory reset within a couple of days. Gotta love they guys and gals at the factory for this at least.

I really enjoyed my two days of virtual ownership. The temptation to lock & unlock the doors or start the car was too real. I managed to resist though. ?
