... which you failed to mention has been resolved by software update which is being applied to our cars in Antwerp. So by the time vehicles make it to EU and UK customers it will be a non event.

Sorry - Engadget have a habit of making my hackles go up for their usually over dramatic coverage of things - and are always somewhat behind the facts - so by the time they report something it’s already been fixed.

I don’t see how Ford could acknowledge that this issue exists and that it would not be addressed during the checks in Antwerp.

Will be a busy few weeks by the sounds of it. Hundreds of cars all getting switched off and back on again!?

I still have a wee bit of faith left...?

It was just in response to Graham's link to an Engadget article about the 12v battery issue - felt compelled to reply straight away as articles that put fear or doubt into people for no good reason just annoy me so much! No beef with G for posting, more with Engadget style of articles of inaccurate & lazy journalism. But that's a long rant for another day :)

Sweet of you to say you kinda missed me LOL - I haven't really left, I've just turned into more of a reviewer of posts rather than a vocal contributor at the moment.

I have been working on some new stuff regarding the massive amounts of customer order data hidden in the dashboard/orders website which have been discussed a bit on here already.

It's part of a wider collaboration with some other EU members on building some tools and documentation to help people get more info on the status of their orders without having to reply on dealership Vista updates. There is so much data and technical documentation to piece together to make sense of it all though (not all of which is in English!). I think by the time I have it figured out the cars will have started to be delivered!

It's my belief we only have about another 3½ weeks left to wait for the first wave of UK deliveries to begin. What I'm seeing with the rapid status changes happening on vehicles online, I think AKTRION are churning through the QA process quite quickly. If I learn anything for definite I will of course break the news here first :)

Completely agree, the writing or videos of so called reputable journalists is quite frankly in some circumstances shocking. Instead of putting something out which often seems rushed, I wish they would actually research & inform with full facts!

Have lost count the amounts of times I sit here watching or reading articles going ā€œthats wrongā€ or ā€œno it doesn’tā€

Most people with general interest are reading these articles or watching these videos to be informed, and to be so mis-informed is disheartening.

The review that gets it wrong re the charging cables supplied would have left people out of pocket after ordering something they don't need.
Normally Ford PR would have asked them to correct that... even with a text note. They probably will Christmas after next.

Yep. I’m showing the same as that. Also has:

ā€œgobStatusDescā€:ā€OffSiteā€

I’m assuming it’s also in the QC process. ???

I have had a very thorough response from Hannah about some of my queries, I have gone back to her to clarify a few more questions. She said I could share her response here, so I hope this is useful:

I understand there is confusion on the forums, I have updated a couple of customers on this. Your Space White Mustang Mach-E is on board the Grande Florida.

As you may have heard, the boats are taking different routes. I am not updated on this regularly, and neither is the shipping team. It is only when I enquire, then I get updated. This is true for the Graal San Martin which now has the route of docking at Lagos, when it was previously suggested it wasn’t going anywhere near Lagos. As you can imagine I don’t like giving out information which is potentially false, as myself and my team only get told as and when enquired.

I’ve been on the case and I am getting even more involved with the shipping department as a whole to make sure this is amended as I only want to give the correct and most up to date info for everyone. An update from today shows me the Grande Florida will be estimated to arrive in Antwerp around the 22nd April. I am in the process of finding out exact routes, but as you can imagine, it is very hard to find out due to Ford not being in charge of the schedule.

The other enquiry recently has been that there are ONLY transits on the vessel. This is false. There is a number of Mustang Mach-E’s on the Grande Florida. European Transits are not made in Mexico, they are made in Europe.

After docking in Europe, all the vehicles are offloaded to Antwerp. Antwerp is the host of a new inspection centre, where all the vehicles are unloaded and have to pass a 50-point check before they can be released for delivery. This is to make sure there are no quality concerns and they can fine tune the car. They process up to 300 Mach-E models every day. There an electronic report is generated using an online inspection tool, which immediately reports any issues. That information is shared at the Ford CuautitlĆ”n stamping and assembly plant in Mexico, where all the Mustang Mach-E’s are manufactured.

The checks take an estimated 5-10 weeks turnover time. From Antwerp it then takes an estimated 6 days to ship to the UK. This means your estimated time can still be June. Overall, the cars go through 4 main checks. The only chance of the car ā€œdisappearingā€ as such is the time between these checks. This cannot be tracked by myself or dealers. The status from ā€œAntwerpā€ only changes when it leaves Antwerp, to Flushing (Belgium) and then finally arriving into Dagenham.

To save on fuel emissions and being more economically friendly to the environment, there is a very short wait at Dagenham for the cars to be loaded on transport that are going to the same places. You might be able to gauge it by the order of the boats that went into Antwerp. As the assumption is the first cars which arrived there will be among the first to leave but still bear in mind about the short wait at Dagenham.

Please feel free to share this information on the forums as I know it will help clear up confusion.

The information on the PICG grant is with your dealer, on whether it was put through or not. Please contact your dealer on the update of this.

Kind regards

Hannah

I never said that the Ford Transit Connect 2021 are designated for Europe, just told that i saw only "Ford Trans Connect 2021" on the Grande Florida ;)

They go to "Valencia" according to the sheet.
