Hasta la Vista checked today.

I'm still in the May 22nd club which is very exclusive and occupied only by very deluded people.

I refuse to leave.
As you mentioned, Elvis is getting ready for the personal delivery, he will be performing Jailhouse Rock in honour of how long our cars have been "incarcerated" both in Mexico and Antwerp!

In my travels, I have been told from a Ford dealer today ”We have had no communication as to why some vehicles have been pushed back."

Probably confirms what we already guessed.

It's kind of fun to compare and the EV6 does have some awesome features, but are you really wanting to wait until at least October to get one just because of poor comms from Ford?
I think I may have touched on it the other day but I really don't want you lot to think that I am dissing the Mach-E in favour of an alternative brand in any way.

The Mach-E is still my #1 choice of EV - it's a great achievement by Ford - and I am still committed to the cause. (I wouldn't still be here writing this if I wasn't) My EV6 order is basically a tactical backup (life has taught me to always have a Plan B !!)

My beef with Ford right now is not just based on poor comms, it goes much deeper than that (but you gotta admit the customer experience has been just a little bit rubbish).

My recent crisis of confidence in the Mach-E is predominantly based on the quality of the underpinning software that runs the vehicle, and Ford's capability (or lack thereof) to work in an Agile development methodology (rapid cycles of bug fixing and incremental software roll-outs)

Many of the issues that are being fixed by AKTRION in Antwerp should have been able to be rolled out via an OTA update, and I would expect those updates to be relatively frequent to begin with while they get the core systems settled, and then move to be focussed on new feature updates. The car should not have needed to spend many weeks in compounds being manually tweaked, they should have been able to remotely send the updates out, and at the very most have somebody press an "OK" prompt in the car. Boom, job done.

Donald Rumsfeld that gave the speech"...There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know"

I guess I'm more concerned about what we don't know about rather than what we do know about.

Normally when spending lots of money on something I like to really know the in's and outs about it (hence why I've been able to share so much with you lot over the last year or so). I also like to have a warm and fuzzy feeling about it after doing all that due diligence.

It sounds like you might have a really good Kia dealer, which is totally the opposite of me, so maybe I'm unfairly biased.
It seems I'm lucky here - the Kia Team in Norwich seem to have their act together, and while my dealings have been limited so far they have impressed me with the proactive and informed sales guys. I do share your general dislike for dealerships and sales teams no matter which manufacturer they represent.

Anyway - yet another mega post. Hopefully more positive in tone (no pun intended) ... look at it this way - at least I'm helping you all pass the time by writing these novels ?

AGILE only works if you have more than one person on the software development team!

If we find a software fault that's critical we fix it within days and a seperate team roll it out who are s... hot at it.

The tools they are using are archaeic if they are fannying around for weeks in Antwerp trying to do uploads.

It makes me think the architecture in the cars and the tools they use to work with it are rubbish.

Has anyone heard a possible order date for the GT yet. I have an FE on order and if the dates keep slipping along with the price range of the FE, it might be that the GT is on pre-order for a similar price give or take a few K before my vehicle even arrives! Has anyone thought about ordering the GT if their Mach e doesn't arrive beforehand?
Jay Ward (Fords UK comms head) told me that it’s likely that the order bank for Europe will open in the Summer... so who knows. If it opened at the same time as the US, I would have cancelled my FE and order the GT... however now I’m thinking I might trade up after 3 years.

My guess is other development priorities have been given ahead of minor small markets. The UK is a small market and RHD.

in addition there are physical QC checks and possible even module swaps. It all indicates we are simply not the top priority.

I think as we have all learnt, Ford have no concept of uk season or years. I think if it does come on sale and I am still waiting for my FE I would change my order for the GT (price depending). Must be a sucker for punishment!

Hopefully Grahame is right, more ships coming in will force progress due to space limitations.

Right had my 2nd test drive today and I am 100% in with the Mach e. Knowledgeable young dealer even knowing I already had an order in was excellent. If I could swap I would and have sent an email to his manager. It was especially refreshing after my experiences with my own ford dealership and vw and kia in last couple of days. To be honest I am the same as @Wonky_Donkey I will have an order in for the ev6 but purely as back up only. Although a change of kia dealership will be needed.
Anyway enough of that and the test drive this time I purposely drove my c class before on a route so I had a direct comparison on the same roads and I can honestly say the drive was great. No bounciness I experienced on the Orpington roads. No issues with a number of high speed bumps, drive was firm no springiness and boy was the acceleration rapid. You boys talking about the GT I would need clean pants each time I put my foot to the metal in that beast?. Just glad I cannot afford it or constant supply of new pants!
Played in whisper and untamed, normal brakes, one pedal and back to normal. Definitely got to grips with 1pd and hated normal when I switched back. Enjoyed both drive modes.
Back in showroom I was allowed to bang up the b and o speakers on kiss fm. Wow decent sound system for me although not a kiss fm lover!
Dealer also pointed out the camera under the windscreen Ford badge and stated the Mach E specialist had said it would record any accidents just like a dashcam. Where would it record though? Mach e specialist not on site to confirm. Anyone heard of this?? I know sentry and dashcam may be added by an ota later but never knew that it can do it already. Maybe an over enthusiastic dealer ?.
Anyway come on Ford UK start kicking Aktiron to get some bloody UK cars through QC so we can burn some rubber in our shiny new mustangs ??

There is no dashcam function via any of the built in cameras!

Thanks for the review, no photos?

I was surprised oh well thought he was being over enthusiastic ?Some photos of the black as its what I have ordered but it's awd and still prefer these wheels thsn the er rwd. I am thinking now to black powder coat as seen this done on a us car and they look better than the grey wheels.
