It seems Ford's back-end servers are currently down in both USA and UK meaning that FordPass Activations and Services may be offline until it's fixed.

...which is a real shame as I just got a notification for an OTA ?

Sorry this is turning into an overnight posting marathon ?

OTA just landed and completed. Looks like it was the anticipated eCall update for those that had not been to dealership.

Wow that’s a very thorough list o_O

There are a few items on that list that you could check at the dealership, but a large proportion you will only realistically be able to check at home (eg functionality of the puddle lights - as they only work when it’s dark, and the VariCharger portable charging unit)

My advice would be to check fit and finish:
- Panel gap alignments and spacing
- Check for paint defects and any cosmetic damage to body or trim
- Test basic vehicle functionality (lights, wipers, indicators)

All accessories are present:
- A public charge cable bag containing a big blue Type2 charging cable with a couple of fluffy mitts for cable cleaning
- A home charger cable bag with a VariCharger unit and two adapters (a UK 3 pin plug and a blue 32A Commando)

Locate the Door pillar PIN master key card:
This will be in the glovebox or on the sunshade.

Just my 2p on the subject :)
Great advice, as usual, from Wonky.

Only thing I would say is you might not get the bag and cleaning mits with the type 2 charging cable.

A lot of these cables didn’t arrive with the cars (mine included) and it was down to the dealers to order them and put them in the cars ready for collection.

If you look on the Ford Shop at Mach E accessories there are two options.

Type 2 charging cable with bag and mits

Type 2 charging cable on its own.

It depends which the dealer has ordered for you.

Mine didn’t arrive in time for collection so I picked it up yesterday.

My dealer has ordered the Type 2 cable only.

I was a bit miffed at first (especially as Ford are reimbursing the dealers for them) but, having thought about it, I’ll only be getting it in and out the Frunk so it doesn’t really matter.

Just got my notification as well after my car spent 2 hours at the dealers getting the ecall recall update done. Still at least hopefully with 2 attempts it should be working properly. Hopefully I will never need to find out.
Have I said how much I enjoyed our get together at the weekend?

For those of you who are having the update done at the dealer or are waiting to have this latest OTA update, to check it has been done go to vehicle settings - general - about sync. If the SYNC4 software version is: 21139_PRODUCT REVISION: 263 then you have the latest software.

It's an interesting piece of software isn't it? :)

Experiences vary depending on whether you are using the Android or the iOS version. Anecdotally the iOS version seems a bit more reliable, but many of the issues are server based.

I've never managed to get a profile to upload, it just keeps saying I need to add my VIN to my account even though I have.

Like you I've removed and reauthorised my vehicle so many times I've lost count, and I was also having some issues with the authorisation process yesterday. I've also tried using the Reset function on the car in combination with removing the vehicle from the app, deleting and reinstalling the app, essentially starting from fresh. Still won't do a profile upload.

Sometimes just leaving it for a few hours allows the servers and the car some time to sync/catch-up, which can help if it's got itself in a tizzy.

Oddly I also seem to have a USA account on Ford.com as well as an EU account at Ford.co.uk - I sometimes wonder if the UK site isn't quite linked up properly as logging into the US one seems to give better data.

I also have dabbled with FordPass Pro - some others have had some success with that - but I didn't like it, and it gave reduced functionality around charging schedules etc.

I personally have come to the conclusion that the UK/EU site isn't quite fully baked yet - and hopefully they will fix some of these issues with website updates soon. :)
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I’m not going to be losing any sleep over it. ?

I did get a message about the latest OTA this morning but this has just confirmed it has been unsuccessful. ☹

The main thing is that I press the button and the car starts! ?

Actually thinking about it I suppose those of you who were caught up in the stopsell because of this can also check to make sure it HAS been done.

I had the same thing again this morning. I was wondering if it's because my car is outside of my home's wifi range? But I thought these were meant to run over the car's 4G connection so no need for wifi anyway...?

Hi, Guys.

Does anyone know what 'Being checked into 'DagRail' means?

Yeah. My car seems to be on the boundary of my wifi signal. But as you say the updates shouldn’t require that.
I’ve adjusted where my router is and it’s now showing as a ‘good’ connection in my car so will see if that makes any difference.
I just think that it’s more to do with there being a few kinks in Ford’s software.
I’d emailed the FordPass team last week so will see what they say….if they ever get back to me as no doubt they’re busy at the moment!?

Dagrail means it has been loaded on to a train carriage, so could be in transit or might be sat in Dagenham waiting for pickup.

The long trip back home… Wish us luck! Hoping the charger in Sutton Scotney is working ???

B1AADB8F-E101-415C-8E88-6268B5F85FD4.jpeg
I called in to Sutton Scotney on Sunday on my way back from my roadtrip. Didn't use the charger as I charged at Milton Keynes and still had plenty to get home but there was a car on the charger so presumably it was working then. Safe trip.
