The long trip back home… Wish us luck! Hoping the charger in Sutton Scotney is working ???

B1AADB8F-E101-415C-8E88-6268B5F85FD4.jpeg
I called in to Sutton Scotney on Sunday on my way back from my roadtrip. Didn't use the charger as I charged at Milton Keynes and still had plenty to get home but there was a car on the charger so presumably it was working then. Safe trip.
I'm intrigued as to why the satnav is sending you to Sutton Scotney southbound services which is on A34 if you are coming from Fowey to London. The way I would have gone would be A30/A303/M3 or A30/M5/M4

I had the same thing again this morning. I was wondering if it's because my car is outside of my home's wifi range? But I thought these were meant to run over the car's 4G connection so no need for wifi anyway...?

So, has anybody got to grips with FordPass yet?!

Seemed to be working ok for me until this morning. Then it started showing zero information regarding my car. Was showing 0 miles and 0% charged. I decided to delete my car and the app as nothing else was working.

Now I’ve got the car back on the app but it won’t let me activate it now ?. I get the message about the app on the car’s screen and click yes but I just keep getting an error message on the app saying there was an error.

Ive never been able to set up a profile using the app but I was able to activate it before today.

Car is great but the software is appalling.
Hi I am a newbie to this site so I apologise if I am asking the same old questions.
I am supposed to be picking up my Mach e rwd ex on the 16/7/21 but who knows. I am interested in getting the iOS version of the Ford pass app but i am not sure if the fordpass app on apple appstore is the correct one for the Mach e. Anybody know?
if this is the correct app could somebody give me any tips on how to get it working once I have the car please?
are you guys using the app (successfully) or have you tried to order additional key fobs?

Hi @Mercury8 and @BlackheathDiggs

I also had this message which didn't seem to make sense - I did wonder if it failed as we had actually had the update already done at the dealership ?

Having checked the version (thanks @portlandg for this) I am on the latest version ?

Any thoughts?
David

It didn't fail because you already had had it done. I had and my OTA update was successful. I would hazard a guess your WiFi wasn't on. I think there is a glitch with it because every time I move from one WiFi to another the car doesn't remember my passwords so I have to re enter them all the time so maybe yours hadn't connected.

Hi James,

That's a good question ?

The answer is no, and yes - depending I think on how the Sync connectivity works, as the network is always available when the car is at home!

The message came through to my FordPass Inbox at 07:27 this morning. At that time the car was outside on the drive - I was having breakfast prior to heading off for my weekly 5-a-side footie ?

So I assume that the car was therefore not connected.

As far as I can tell, when the car is started (at home) it shows in the car under "Connectivity" as connected to my network, and registers as a client on my router. It appears to maintain the connection for a couple of minutes after the car is turned off, and then goes offline.

I have therefore now set a schedule (per @portlandg post) to connect every Wednesday to check for updates just to make sure!

This is one of those areas where it would be really helpful I think if Ford provided more information and an easier way to determine which updates have been applied over time.

Cheers
David

Hi Kevin
A few quick answers to your questions - the FordPass app is non vehicle specific, so you don’t need a special Mach-E version. The standard FordPass download from the AppStore is what you will need.

From there it will ask you to add your VIN number (hopefully you have that already). This will setup the app for your particular vehicle. At this point you will be able to see some basic info, but for the full experience you will need to complete the in vehicle activation.

You can do that bit the day you pick it up, or give it a punt beforehand and hope that a technician or driver of your car says yes top the pop-up :)

After activation it’s a bit of a minefield as it’s a bit buggy - but just play with it and see what happens. You can always come back here for a sympathetic ear from the rest of us if it starts playing up. :)
