Have any of the few that have collected their cars in the UK yet ordered, and received, the Mustang key fob? It doesn't appear against the cars VIN when I check mine, so there is no guarantee it will be programmable and work with my Mach E.

I was wondering if any had tried it yet and knew that the special order Mustang fob will definitely work with our UK Mach Es :)

I can't think of why it wouldn't if other countries in Europe have them and they work....but of course it's technology and it only needs a 1 or 0 in the wrong place to prevent it from working in a specific locale.
Hey,
I collected my Mach-E last week and can with standard Ford key.
I had no idea you could order a Mustang one.
Please can you advise on where from?

Yeah. My car seems to be on the boundary of my wifi signal. But as you say the updates shouldn’t require that.
I’ve adjusted where my router is and it’s now showing as a ‘good’ connection in my car so will see if that makes any difference.
I just think that it’s more to do with there being a few kinks in Ford’s software.
I’d emailed the FordPass team last week so will see what they say….if they ever get back to me as no doubt they’re busy at the moment!?
Are you able to share that email?

Hi

The email address that I used is: [email protected]

I got a auto-reply saying they aimed to get back to me in 72 hours. This is now day 4….

There’s also a chat function on the app but I haven’t tried that yet.

Hi

The trial that came with my car that I’ve set up is for 1gb of wifi over a month although I’m sure that Ford stated it would be more at one point but can’t remember how much.

I’m probably going to just use the data on my phone when the trial expires as I’ve always got plenty to spare every month and it doesn’t make sense for me to take out another plan.

As for service plan. I haven’t taken out any and the dealer didn’t push any. I suppose it’s really up to you. I’m not sure what any of the others have done on here regarding them. This is my first ev so I’m pretty much playing it by ear!?
I’ve decided to go with a ‘Service Plan’ as opposed to the ‘Extended Warranty’ for peace of mind regarding services and parts.

If you find the ‘shop’ for Ford Accessories and search for Mustang Mach E the ‘Service Plans’ are all listed there with various year / services / mileage options.

I’ve posted a pic of the one I’m going for.

I’ve not been able to purchase it yet as it says ‘Out Of Stock’ but I have Hannah on the case for me.

From what I've seen on the FB forums we get the scabby Fiesta fob because it is compliant with EU regulations (goes to sleep to prevent key jacking), and the Mustang one isn't.

So the "3 year part", does that extend the basic 3 year warranty by 3 years, or is that 3 year cover for the bits the warranty wouldn't cover? There really doesn't seem to be much info online about all these different options!

It isn't anything to do with EU regulations. It is a UK only insurance regulation that requires they keys to go to sleep. Those on mainland Europe get a proper mustang key. From what I understand anyway.

You invalidate your insurance if your car is stolen and you have unapproved keys programmed.

Although other makes produce cars with keys that don't sleep and are able to qualify for insurance!

Does the different key count as a modification you have to specify to the insurer?

My MME is still in Antwerp, but I noticed today that the eCall recall notice in ETIS has now gone. None of the PTI dates have changed, but none the less, something has.

It will probably make your insurer cancel your policy if you notify them as the insurance rating is based on the supplied key.
