Hi all,
Been lurking on this forum since Feb. I picked up our Carbonized Grey AWD LR last week and love it. I have a couple of minor software issues with the car but nothing to make me regret the decision. The OTA updates do need to come as it is clear that the dealerships are out of their depth. I took it back into the dealership today and they played around for a day and then said, I should call Ford. I reckon this forum is a better source of info than Ford.

glitch 1. My charger location shows up in the wrong place. I live in Hove but it shows my charging location about 3 miles offshore near Chichester.
glitch 2. Ford pass will not allow my wife to do a remote profile set-up. Mine worked fine but she gets an error. She's created a profile in the car but just misses a few features. By coincidence, we both have new Apple phones so it's not a phone/App issue on remote set up. Also tried several browsers on the laptop.

These little software bugs are annoying but won't stop me from loving the car. I'm ok that there are a few bugs in a big release like the Mach e, but that's what patches and upgrades are meant to fix. Therefore OTA needs to work.

Hi all

PLEASE NOTE - Ford Pass App has released a new version 3.27 which has come onto Google Apps Store i.e. the Android version.

Sadly I upgraded and the latest version is completely broken on my phone (a newish OnePlus 7 running Android 11 - so should not be any problem ?)

I called the FordPass team, and there is no ability to restore/downgrade to 3.26 (which was working perfectly ?)

So I suggest you consider NOT UPGRADING at this time - although I know @SashaLondon has 3.27 working OK on IOS ?

Ford have said they have a 3-day window to fix - really not that good when the app is such a significant part of the car ?

I am on Andriod, but I guess you are IOS .... glad it's working well for you ?

I checked and had a few apps to update so just updated them all ........ !

On a separate note…. I just got back from a KIA EV6 launch event.

Got to play with the car etc, all I can say is I am still very happy with my Mach-E.

EV6 is a lovely looking car, but it’s much bigger in the flesh, but feels a bit cramped in the cabin space.

I've ordered the standard range RWD..I thought that would be the most common choice..but that doesn't explain the delay. I don't usually change my car's for a while but this is a return to ford, after a few other manufacturers and this hasn't been a great experience so far. I understand it's a new car but communications could be alot better.
Exactly my situation, after a few new Fords between 1995 and 2002, I switched to Honda then Toyota, and this is my first return to Ford. While the car overall is fantastic now I eventually have it, and generally my dealership have been pretty good, especially pulling out all the stops to get me my car ASAP after it arrived with them, Ford UK have been very disappointing with the way they have handled the launch, their communications, and their attitude to UK customers.

Totally agree! Ford are the weak link in this chain.

Trouble is, I spoke to the Mach E customer service team today and they know this, their despair is obvious.

Even they have got that ‘couldn’t give a s**t’ attitude now.

Just watched a video on YouTube "in search of a software update" by EV Dave posted 11 hours ago might be helpful.

Did you or anyone else notice .........


Looking at the FordPass App that EV Dave is using (I guess on an iPhone) it appears the IOS version is completely different from the current version of the Android App that I have (see at about 03:25 into the video).

Either that or there are differences between the US and UK versions?

There was nothing on my 3.26 Android version (that I can't use now as 3.27 has completely broken FordPass) that had anywhere near as much information on the OTA set-up as is shown on the video. There is nothing on my FordPass App to configure the OTA.

Does anyone have any further thoughts on this?

Historically the US customers have been at least one version ahead of us with the FordPass app as well as any OTA software updates.

I previously put this down to the fact that we have a region specific version of FordPass for the UK (denoted by the "GBR" tag at the end of the version number). However with the latest releases of FordPass we seem to have become more closely aligned with them with only a matter of days separating the respective releases of v3.27.0 in the UK and US (the OTA versions are still miles apart though)

You will find that the US app will look a little different to ours as they have functionality such as Phone As A Key etc, but the functions you specifically mention about the Software Update screens were only just added in the latest version we got today. It's just really unfortunate that you have had issues with the Android version and have not been able to see this.

We have to remember that the FordPass app is just companion software to the car, and does not control the car's options or functions. The master settings will always be those displayed in vehicle - I think it's important to point that out. So irrespective of FordPass screens and sync issues with the app - your car should still work the same when it comes to updates.

Re the usefulness of the video - He did highlight some genuine FordPass issues, but what I'm trying to say is I don't think these are the source of the missing OTA problem. He was just using the video as a platform to have a bit of a whinge about how rubbish the software was.

I was also a bit confused as to why he was promoting a Tesla referral code at the beginning of a Mach-E specific video. You read the comments section under the video and it's just Tesla fanboys trashing the Mach-E. Ever get the feeling he's just giving the crowd what they want to hear?

He also struck me as what I would describe as a bit of a "Problem Customer" type who will make a big deal out of stuff even though he was potentially part of the problem. (point in mind is he complained about not knowing who he had spoken to at the Ford dealership he called on the phone, but at no point did he ask for the person's name)

Personally speaking I'd rate that video a 1 out of 10 for useful info.

Anyway - I'm gonna stop there otherwise this will turn into another one of my late night rants LOL :)

Many thanks for update (not really a rant ?)

I had wondered whether the updates may have been in 3.27 - bit of a double-whammy for me then at the moment .... no App and no OTA stuff ??

But good to know the additional facilities will be there when 3.27 Android is OK - I did notice some other Android users had the same or similar issues to me! I use the App a lot for the Journey functions, setting the charging, checking tyre pressures etc. Was really happy with it!

One bit of luck though - when I was having "fun" with my the installation of my Ford Connected Wallboxes (first two failed - but third time lucky) I installed FordPass on an old Android phone (no active SIMM anymore) to test things out, and that is still on 3.26 ?

Please can somebody tell me what this blue rectangle means, and is this why my car sometimes does a "dong-dong dong-dong" at me when I power on? And how do I stop it?!?!
