Visited the dealers today to sign the final paperwork and agree delivery for this Friday, as a result the following 2 points came up:

1. Cars are no longer delivered with a 13a home charging cable - has anyone experienced this? As I've not seen anything about this on here I'm assuming it is dealer misinformation.

2. We cannot find the £1000 deposit - I've read numerous posts about this so just have to argue it out and If necessary make a claim on the credit card.

Interested if anyone has come across the cable 'issue'.
Hi Peter,
I collected my car just over two weeks ago and I had the 13A charger included. Also, I paid £99 deposit and that has gone missing, thanks for the reminder, I will chase them Again.

I call bullshit on this!

I went to see my dealer last friday and asked him about the cables. To answer me he showed me a Mach E in their showroom which had a type 2 cable for your wall charger etc, and a 'granny charger unit with a 240 volt 3-pin plug adapter and what looked like a commando adaptor. So effectively 3 cables. All came in separate zip up bags (looked good quality) Plus cleaning cloths (?)

wrt the deposit the basic invoice he showed me, which included accessories I'd ordered, didn't show the invoice. He told me not to pay this one but to wait until their accounts dept added the deposit. A couple of hours later he sent me a pdf of the amended invoice and the deposit was there! I paid that one...

I agree 100000% with your post - dealer saying it doesn’t come with the VariCharger pack (13A & commando Plug charger) is utter rubbish. ?

The microfibre gloves in the bag with the Type 2 cable are for drying it off when it’s been lying in the wet before putting it back in the storage bag. The bags are indeed a good sturdy quality.

The charging cables were being put in the cars at Antwerp. A good number of the early cars shipped with them missing, which the dealer then had to order separately.

Your dealer may be mistaken and assume because a car doesn't have them, they're not included, or your dealer may be malicious and lazy, not wanting to order them for you.

CABLES UPDATE

Suspect as stated above the dealer received a car with missing cables and assumed they were no longer included. This morning he rang to say they should be included and if not it will be a warranty claim. Hopefully, he will check when it arrives on site today.
Also, sent him a copy of the credit card transaction to show the £1000 deposit was paid to Lookers and not Ford. Hopefully this show point him in the right direction.

Well, look at the calendar Stephen-

This is one of the busiest weeks in the motor trade, number plate change, plus lockdown easing and the weekend being a bank holiday.

In all respects my dealer has been excellent and he is personally making sure it'll be ready.

Are you happy with yours in all respects?
Communication is the worst thing about my dealer, so often not answering emails. After I picked up the car I emailed my salesman with a query and no reply, I had to phone him. And also out of courtesy as they'd done such a good job getting my car ready so quick, I emailed the manager to thank him, also asking a question, and again, no reply. I do dread having a problem with my Mach E needing fixing, unless hopefully the service dept are better at comms!

This is what is in the back of my mind. This side of the deal has been excellent- but will the back up be the same?

Although are we being pessimistic? These forums are usually where disgruntled customers hang around. There's been loads of MME's sold - surely most are absolutely fine?

I do get spooked with all the tales of woe...

Yeah, my dealer was pretty poor as well so I won’t be going back to them.

I filled in the survey that Ford sent me and she pulled me up on it when I went back 6 weeks later to pick up my rubber mats!?

Apparently if I give them excellent feedback now, they’ll give me a free service!

So, there’s a tip for anyone. Give them poor feedback and you might get a freebie out of them!?

Just had confirmation from Hannah that my car is now in 'Nam! It's due to go out to the dealership on the 3rd of September and then hopefully it's not long before Lex Autolease pick it up and deliver it to me. It's been quite a ride so far as I ordered way back in January. To say I'm excited would be an understatement! It's been great seeing everyone on the forum gradually receive their cars, hopefully it's me soon.
