Thanks for this.

It's annoying as i kept getting fobbed off by the dealer with very vague reasons as to the delay in build. The dealer (TrustFord Barnsley) have repeatedly told me very little but i don't blame them, it's more the fact that Ford are giving little or no information to the dealers themselves from what i can tell.

I'm just getting a little impatient knowing that after 9 months of waiting for the vehicle to be built, it's finally completed yet i'm no closer to knowing when my MME will be leaving Mexico and finally making its trek across the Atlantic.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait, but the wait is becoming tedious ?
If it helps, you're not the only people based in/near Barnsley waiting for their MME.

When yous (and ours) finally arrives, you'll have to say "hi", if you ever see a red extended range all wheel MME driving around the area!

OK - so I've been a good boy and I've gone away to check my facts. Nothing mortifies me more than the idea I may be giving out duff info to you all.

The Field Service Action Memos, and the associated Service Instructions were updated in January 2022. The version of the document @neiloakley is quoting is the original USA guide (which I think I uploaded onto the UK thread last year)

There is a newer version of those docs which originate from Ford EU, and they are the ones the UK dealerships are using.

21S42 - Panoramic Roof Adhesion (is now just for the roof and does not include the windscreen)
21C22 - Windshield Adhesion (is just for the windscreen)
21P22 - Software Updates (should be completed at same time as 21S42)

The updated guide for 21S42 re-uses some of the workshop images showing the windscreen having been removed but states "NOTE: It is not required to remove the windshield as shown in the image. The windshield has been removed for guidance on interior vehicle protection only."

I have attached all three of the new versions and I can rest easy tonight knowing that my car hasn't been bodged, and will indeed be going back to have the windscreen sorted as and when my VIN becomes eligible.
Hi @Wonky_Donkey

Thanks for posting the latest versions of the FSAs ?

I spoke with the Mach-E team today re: the (potential) windscreen replacement.

I noted earlier posts here which highlighted that the 2022 models may not have the acoustic glass windscreens, so I asked them to confirm that we would receive, in such cases where replacement was necessary, a like-for-like windscreen. They were not able to do that - in relation to the acoustic glass - so I asked for this to be escalated!

Having checked the part number(s) in the FSA, one of them does match my existing windscreen, which bodes well - but I will confirm when I hear back from Ford.

Hope all is good with you,
David

On an existing vehicle I would expect them to replace like for like parts. I don’t think even Ford would have the balls to try and downgrade a vehicle specification during recall works !

Supplies to the assembly plant in MX and supplies for spares within Europe are likely to be sourced differently - but you never know :)

I saw a post that offered a small glint of hope regarding the spec of 2022 EU builds this week. Someone in Spain had his order built after the 3rd Jan date, and was reporting that his car’s build info showed a hands free boot opener listed along with acoustic glass.

Read into that what you will - but it’s a similar situation to what we had this time last year with the first 2021 builds we are driving now. Nobody could say back then with any certainty what options where included or missing until the cars were actually picked up by customers. I think it will probably be the same for the 2022’s.

Glad i'm not the only one! haha, the dealer seems uninterested or unable to give me any information, as for eSales@Ford - zip from them after numerous e-mails.

It's just a waiting game i suppose, but i'll be sure to give a wave if i ever see you (or any) MME's driving around :)

With these issues on the recall I’m going to leave it as long as possible. Maybe they will improve after some experience.

All this talk of recalls - my second recall has just pinged up in FordPass.

It’s new windscreen time!

same with mine - took them 12 days just to fix the software problem.
So mine managed to do the software updates no problem, but they didn't have the adhesive, and I wasn't going to leave the car with them for an unknown period while they get the parts, so took it home. Pretty ridiculous has they booked it in with a 3-week lead time precisely so that they could get parts in, and then called me the day before saying all was fine to bring in. My low expectations have the processes here have been realised!

On the plus side, I have the software updates which should mean I have a better charging curve ahead of my trip to the Alps next week!

i don't think many of us in UK seem to have done long road trips.

is it just Ford or all manufacturers as bad when it comes to these things?

Do you know if they updated the APIM module?
I’m trying to find a dealer that will (FDRS says there is an update available for that module on my car) as I’m hoping it either puts me on the latest SYNC version or give me more hope of an OTA update in the near future.

Will do - I've put the time in to researching the charging options on the way (with back up options). Hopefully the IONITY stations work as easily as they do in the UK (some charging speed issues aside).

Some French Tesla chargers are accepting other cars. It's supposed to be solely for French residents but the EV daily podcast made it work by just changing the postcode in the Tesla profile to a French address.
They have opened them up for testing with other car companies.

Ah thanks for flagging - hadn't realised that they had extended beyond Netherlands. Looking at the map, annoyingly, none of the selected sites are near my route - otherwise I would have definitely tested and reported back!

Think it was revealed yesterday.
