Hi all, my car is booked in tomorrow for the 'AWD Drive Fault' again & for any outstanding software updates not done last time it was in, I'm still on on 1.6.0 so if anyone has had theirs updated recently at a dealers which is the latest I should expect.

I know Wonky-Donkey had his updated to 2.1.0 last week, so anyone had a newer one yet.

Another quicky, I have had to put a lot of welly to overcome my brakes sticking recently how do you know which set of brakes is sticking & to confirm it (they both have a small amount of scoring).

If you are looking at the updates tab on your big screen for your power up update then if you have the update done at your dealers it won't show on you screen. I was on 1.6.0 when it went into my dealer for another issue and when they plugged the diagnostics in it did the updates automatically. I know that 1.7.0 was installed because that was the update that had the notes app in it which mine now has. It also lost more functions than it gained which has been a real pain. When I checked the update tab on the screen it still said 1.6.0. I now have 2.1.0 which was done OTA and my screen has changed to reflect this one. So what I am saying is that you won't get a change in the screen information if your dealer does the update. The only way you will know that one has been done is when you notice the difference. Some good, most bad. I would also recommend you take a picture of the SYNC software version just to check if that gets changed.

Do you know if they updated the APIM module?
I’m trying to find a dealer that will (FDRS says there is an update available for that module on my car) as I’m hoping it either puts me on the latest SYNC version or give me more hope of an OTA update in the near future.
There are actually two APIM module updates available on FDRS at the moment for most Job 0 early build cars (Nov 2020 - Jun 2021)

The first one will update your SYNC software to the equivalent of PowerUp 1.7.1 and should show a software version of 21174 - 168 in Settings --> General --> About SYNC

The second APIM update requires the dealership to directly connect to the APIM module in the car via a micro USB cable to re-flash it. Its a bit of a fiddly job as they have to remove a panel in the footwell / dashboard to access it.

If you get both of those updates you should be all good and ready to accept Power-Up 2.1 when it gets released for your VIN over the coming weeks.

I've attached a table below to show the SYNC versions after the respective Power-Up updates. As you can see Power-Ups don't always update the SYNC software, sometimes (eg 2.1) they update the software on a different module which you won't be able to see through SYNC.

Power Up VersionSYNC Version
1.3 & eCall FSA#21C16???
1.421139 - 263
1.621139 - 263
1.7.121174 - 168
2.121174 - 168
2.321281 - ???

Thanks! Any way of checking if they've done that second APIM update?

I can check your VIN on FDRS when you get your car back from the dealership and I'll be able to print a report of exactly what modules have been updated :)

Actually - I can do a before and after if you like so you can see what's outstanding before it goes in.

Send me a PM

Anyone else want any OTA status checks or FDRS history/Outstanding software update checks while I have all the software open?

Those of you on here who are still commenting on range issues, have a look at this. It might confirm what others have been trying to tell you.

Pretty poor video advice in my opinion as she doesn't allow for battery degrading in time and the less range over the winter months when she says buy the smallest battery you need!

She should be mentioning battery capacity reduces over the years.

Their videos are entertaining but I would only use it as a starting point as they often lack in detail but have a lot of Ego in there.

Hi all. Just a quick update on the roof rack situation. I bought everything from Thule.com and all is well. However, I believe that there is no roof load weight for the EU market and it appears the kit I got is no longer on the Thule website. I’ve not finished the fit off completely, not installed the locks or rubber strips yet, but I can confirm it all fits correctly and that part numbers etc. are correct.
