Both. The car will restrict what it will accept depending on battery temp. Not driver changeable. The charger will restrict what it can send and also what the car will receive. Ambient temperature ( it looks cold) will also be determining factor as well as how much charge is left in the battery when you start the session. You will also probably find that as you are a non Tesla using a Tesla charger they also restrict the amount of power that you get so as not to lessen the power to the Tesla's that are charging in the background.

In this kind of weather it’s not unusual to see reduced charging speeds due to a colder car battery.

Charge speeds are often a bit of an unknown quantity with so many variables such as warm and cold weather, how full your battery already is, how warm the battery pack is etc etc.

So essentially you can pull up at an ultra rapid charger capable of delivering 300+kW and only get a 50kW ish carge rate due to many factors. Also note max charge rates of Mach-E are 150kW for the ER battery, and 115kW for the SR battery - so that will also play a part.

They also got free charging because of the early adopter delays. What did we get? A poxy set of & O ear buds, which incidentally, mine have NEVER worked properly since I got them so it is highly unlikely we will get anything like this.

Ford's just making sure in case it didn't work the first time. ? If somethings worth doing well it's best to do it over and over again.

It‘s a pity we don’t have the option to precondition when we’re on our way to charge, as surely that would help? there’s a thread in the us forum from the beginning of last year, saying it would be coming in an update, and work like it does in Tesla’s, but it doesn’t look to have materialised

It was 47p last week, but is 57p this week! It's really handy though as my Mum is having Chemo at Addenbrookes Hostpital and it's a mile away, so I can drop her and go and top up.

I'm a spreadsheet geek, so just worked out my first 11 days of ownership at 3.58m/kw over 800 miles, which I don't think is too bad given it's barely been above freezing for a week and the car had 3 inches of snow all over it yesterday!
