So I now have 2 orders. I've just ordered an RWD ER in Carbonised Grey. Delivery date 28th May, 7 days after my FE date. The race is on but if there is no change to my FE date (sooner) I will be taking the RWD ER and kept the £10k in my pocket not Ford's.

Absolute disgrace!
Now you're just being greedy ?. Seriously though, like your style. Just hope you can cancel one when the time comes. You will actually save £13000 if you factor in the PICG

The price of 48k is after the £3k. They give a base price of £49k, add the technology pack price then take off the £3000.

I’ve looked at both orders, both have a refundable deposit.

they really have misrepresented the “priority build” massively.

7 days difference on delivery. 365 days difference on order date.

When you get vins you will be able to get more accurate information on build and delivery dates?

The VIN tracker we have at present will give you details of build date, but the VIN is not normally allocated until just before the build. So you have a bit of a chicken and egg situation there.

Using the VIN you can get shipping details, but at present ours are still blank even for those of us with a March scheduled delivery date.

Hope that helps.

That's odd because my ford account says the price of the car is £49980 and with the grant the price I am paying is £46980. Not only are you having to wait a long time sounds like you are going to pay more for the privilege

Sorry @Spensaf . I've just realised that you are having the grey which is an extra cost option

I got an email from Rebecca which confirms that they are being fed a pack of lies from the US :-

"The Mustang Mach-E production facility works on a batch build process, so vehicles of the same specification are built together in a fixed volume batch. Customers were able to order not only the First Edition from the start, but other Mach-E models as well. The vehicles were then scheduled for production in the order of when the order was placed, no matter whether they were a First Edition or alternatively a RWD Extended range for example. In cases where there were not enough early orders to complete a batch, the balance has had to be fulfilled by pulling forward earlier orders of the required specification, hence some later orders will end up getting built earlier than would have been anticipated."

Where is falls over is that Ford have been bragging since the end of December 2019 that the First edition was sold out so how the hell did they not have the number to complete a fixed volume batch. They literally couldn't receive any more FE orders. The site showed them as sold out. It's pathetic.

This must be the reason that they did a FE drop last month to try and bolster up the batch numbers. Presumably the FE didn't create as much of a stir as they had hoped. Problem was that didn't open that up this side of the pond so no-one here could put in a late order.

not sure about that. First Editions are being delivered at the moment to the US. I would have thought they need to have batches of RHD different to LHD. They must have known ages ago so should have given us the option to switch to other models. Whatever way you look at it, it shambolic and FE customers have been misled

Not many others own here, but the UK took it off from sale in March so they must have sold the full allocation. I really wanted the Grabber Blue.

I think the devil is in the detail here.

They took the allocated maximum number of pre-orders, and then withdrew that option from sale.

How many of those have subsequently cancelled over the last 10 months? They could have lost a good percentage during the delays which caused the shortfall in batching. People are inherently impatient and will move on to the next shiny thing that's available.

As per quite a few of us we were told to contact our dealer to complete the finance - I rang my dealer Think Ford in Guildford three times on different days and left a message to contact me which they didn't, so in the end called in to see then yesterday. They were not interested and really unhelpful and told to me to contact Ford to resolve it. If I could change my dealer I would. Certainly wouldn't recommend Think Ford after this experience!!
That sucks. Sorry to hear that. Are you sure you can’t change dealerships? Does anyone know?
