Hope you didn't lose too much
Well I bet my 2019 reservation in the build/delivery queue - which apparently was worth nothing, so no harm done ???

I'm putting money on the cars being on that ship. Wonky's money of course!

I assume when the status changes to 'shipped' that means it has left the factory and on route to the mexican port?

And then from mid feb it doesn't take until May to get to dealers surely.

How long does it take to build a car?? If my build date is the 8th, would I make the boat?? ????
Looking at my vista page production date was given as 3/12. On the tracker it gives 9/12. From reading some of the comments from the US, apparently they have access to more info on production, I think the vista date is when production starts and the tracker date when it has finished. This would follow as my latest vista update gives my current vehicle status as "assembly offline" on 9/12.
So the answer to your question, I think, is 6 days and probably not. However, don't be to disheartened as there is another 2 ships due to leave on 28th getting to Southampton on 27th March.

You may be in luck. At 0648 this morning the Grande Houston was due to leave Veracruz on the 12 Feb. I have just this minute checked the schedule again and it has been changed to the 18 Feb. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us. It just depends how much space they have.

If the cars do get on the ship would that show on vista and/or the vin tracker?

In theory, yes to both. It just depends on whether someone pushes the right buttons at the right time. What we need to happen next is for 'gate release' on vista to have a date which if I remember correctly means that all is ok and it can go to the docks. My previous factory orders have only been tracked via vista and shipping schedules, the dealer I used for those cars was on my way home from work so I used to go in every day to check for updates. I have never used the 'tracker' before so I am not sure how quickly that gets updated. I would imagine that the tracker may well update when the car is booked for a ship so the details could change a few days before. If you have a good rapport with your dealer or if he is on the ball it shouldn't be too much of an issue to get vista updates. All I can say is just do as I am and keep checking. Or you could just let me check mine and then if there is a change check yours. But that, of course, relies on me telling you that mine has changed ?

He wasn't 'just' my dealer. I have know him for over 30 years so we are more friends. Our kids grew up together. It's just unfortunate that he isn't big enough to be able to sell the MME. Because of this he hasn't got the 'in' that he would have for other models. Because he is not on the 'list' he doesn't get much relevant to the MME otherwise I think my information feed would be a bit better.

Not confirmed. I am working on the assumption that the cars will go from Veracruz to Antwerp. There they will either stay on a ship that is going to Southampton or get transshipped to the next available. However, I did hear that any excess cars were going to be held at Dagenham so the nearest port to there is Tilbury which is also served from Antwerp so that could be an option too. Ford also have a vehicle holding centre just up the coast in Flushing. Their Germany made cars get trained to there and then shipped to Tilbury. Can't see that that would be the route for our cars though but it is an option. It would make sense to me to have bought cars sent to Southampton where they can ship them out quickly for delivery but have cancelled unsold cars shipped to Dagenham where they wouldn't have to pay dockside storage charges. Just my humble opinion, not gospel
