I don't understand what the problem is. Your dealer should be the one that is organising your finance just like he would do for any other car he sells. When I confirmed my order and went to do the finance it came up saying that there was a problem and to contact my dealer. When I did he took some details over the phone pressed a few buttons and then said all done approved. Job done. If anything, I think your dealer is getting bogged down by the whole "online" order process and is assuming he doesn't have to do anything.

He did take me through the finance application as usual when I first phoned him. For some reason he then directed me to the Ford on line team. Maybe it’ll be third time lucky...??
I just think it’s a symptom of the lack of communication within Ford UK.
If it wasn’t for this forum I’d probably have thrown in the towel.

I had a similar experience to Grahame, in that I contacted the dealer as suggested by the online system. I too had a simple conversation, did the pre-finance checks, and was told I was good to go.

However the difference was that G's online order screen has removed the "Contact Dealer" message and replaced it with the next logical step of completing the full finance agreement when the car is almost ready for pickup. My online screen is still saying "Contact Dealer" , so there is obviously some step that certain dealers are missing.

I'm not worried about it as such because I know that the car is coming and my dealer will sort it all out, but it would be nice to have the right online status being displayed.

I had another good scan through the alternatives last night I won't lie, but still felt the Mach-E was the one for me. At least that makes 3 of us who will stick it out.

I must admit, I was looking at the VW ID4 this morning, the 1st Edition is available from March, similar spec to the SR RWD MME but adds a pan roof for the same price!
I very nearly ordered an ID3 late last year but the dealers just didn't seem interested in doing a competitive Business lease quote, all their marketing was geared towards personal purchases.

How often are the people whose builds were early December checking the vin tracker to see if theirs has changed to shipped ie at the dock. I am limiting myself to 3x a day and I have only been waiting since September!

Just got an email from my dealer and my updated date of arrival is the 15th of May.

I just received confirmation of the change of dealer of my FE order. The Build date has slipped a month to March with ETA of Mid-June. No surprise there then.

Do you think there will be any effect on the Batteries if they are left inactive for over 2 months? It can't be good for them.

While the vehicles are in storage (and during shipping) they are put in a hibernation state that protects the batteries from draining and being under any load. So they should be just fine by the time they reach us.
