That is very true. My 2014 Fusion Hybrid was sold to me September 25th, 2015, although it was built two years before. All the factory warranties applied from this date on, as a brand new car.
In the RV world the OEM chassis could be as much as two or three years older than the coach. Manufacturers stockpile the chassis and use them up as they build out RV's.

Upon purchase the dealer fills out a form that starts the chassis warranty from the date of sale (so you could have a 2020 coach with a 2018 chassis and the chassis warranty expires in 2021). At least once a year (or more) you'll find some angry post on an RV forum that their 2020 coach isn't a 2020 coach because they ran their VIN through a VIN decoder on the web...

RV sales in general are kind of terrible from what I understand.

Actually, due to the pandemic RV sales are through the roof (travel by yourself, don't need a hotel, can go to the middle of nowhere, etc.).

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rv-life-booms-during-the-pandemic/

Unfortunately, RV's quality isn't nearly up to automotive quality that people are expecting. Its been predicted, however, that there is going to be a huge surge of used RV's on the market once the pandemic is over because of people either not using them or realizing that the upkeep and repairs may be not worth the effort.

You'll find many many complaints in every RV forum about people's newly purchased RV falling apart and/or not living up to expectations (granted everyone's tolerance for issues is different and each RV is different: one person's extra sawdust being a deal breaker is different from someone else's "my slide fell off").

Sadly what all the extra sales means is crowded RV parks and National Parks and Campgrounds...

While you are talking about RV's. I might have missed it but if the MachE was towed behind could you get it to use he regeneration to charge the batteries while being towed?

We bought our 2016 Leaf in September 2017. The 2018s were coming out with the redesign and Nissan was dumping all the old stock they had through deep discounts through our power company ($10K instant rebate). Despite being 1-2 years old, the warranty started at the time of sale. It's interesting that cars really have two sale dates by the time you get it: sale from the company to the dealer followed by sale from the dealer to the consumer.

Shipping is going to be by truck and rail. To keep up to maximize as best they can to get as many units shipped this year. Don't know how many or can go into full details, but they are trying so hard to do the best they can.

When things settle down then it will go back to rail shipments.

Just to clarify: are you saying some will go by rail but some will be delivered directly by truck during the early deliveries?

Amidst all our discussions of build dates we forgot to celebrate: This week starts MP2 -- full up manufacturing! Woohoo!

Next up: OKTB 23 November.

some where in the attic of the forum it was mention that you could only pull tow the mach e at something no faster than 20 mph and for a distance of 30 miles (making these numbers up but relatively close).

Correct. Otherwise it must be flatbed trailered.

With a Tesla I think it's possible, although someone does have to sit in the driver's seat.

In one pedal driving you wouldn't need to step on the break, but you would need some setting to keep friction breaks from auto engaging. I don't think Tesla has that, but the Mach E does to help bring the vehicle to a complete stop as regen doesn't work below a certain speed.

only if you drain the oil as well
Don't want to pump that tranny fluid backward. ;)

Maybe free spin pins on the rear shafts? Like the old locking/unlocking front diff? Not all is accounted for in new tech but it should come. You think once electric RV's come it will need to.

I will not be towing it and insisting on a flatbed in case of an emergency is not outrageous. If they can pull a 1/2 ton up on the bed they can pull the MME.

What about backwards dolly towing in a RWD model? Seems like that should be possible.

What I am more interested in is automatic car wash where you have to put the vehicle in N.
