In the RV world the OEM chassis could be as much as two or three years older than the coach. Manufacturers stockpile the chassis and use them up as they build out RV's.That is very true. My 2014 Fusion Hybrid was sold to me September 25th, 2015, although it was built two years before. All the factory warranties applied from this date on, as a brand new car.
Upon purchase the dealer fills out a form that starts the chassis warranty from the date of sale (so you could have a 2020 coach with a 2018 chassis and the chassis warranty expires in 2021). At least once a year (or more) you'll find some angry post on an RV forum that their 2020 coach isn't a 2020 coach because they ran their VIN through a VIN decoder on the web...
