We're on the third version of the HVBJB now?
I don't believe so. Last repair order I saw was the same revised part that's been going in for a year now.

Going on 3 weeks now... and the HVBJB was replaced in the first week it was there!!! But they broke some harness clip part # LK9014301A and they can't get it - even through COPIS! I just spoke with BEV team and they are telling me the part is 'available' on May 4th, but they dont know when it will ship. So looks like another 2 weeks best case! Ugh! I tell you my interaction with the BEV team has been usually pretty good they are on the ball... my first agent I had with my prior case was excellent... my current case manager on the other hand is a bit of dud, but when I call there is always someone else who is pretty good. So I would advise anyone else working with BEV to not rely on their assigned agent if in case they are not that good, instead follow up directly with the BEV team and call them at least 1 or 2x a week...

I have other cars, but if I didnt this would be a major inconvenience. Still as it is, its a bummer and my wife is giving me grief putting miles on her car, not to mention I am not up to $120 in gas, vs. basically $0 given my free charging at work! another ugh!

that must be some amazingly important clip to make the car UN-drivable. Seems like there would be lots of temporary alternatives you could use until official part comes in?

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere (I've searched, but I can't find a definitive answer): Do the newer builds still suffer from this problem? I took delivery of a 2023 Premium in March, RWD ER -- do I still have to worry about the HVBJB malfunction?

The models produced from May 2022 onward have the replacement HVBJB.

Damn. Damn. Damn. Twenty minutes ago, I discovered a charging fault via FP. My MME had been charging on the Ford Charger (not the mobile one, the one affixed to the wall). I unplugged, tried again. Red lights. So I got in the car and started it thinking maybe it would reset. Nope. But I got the dreaded SVS. I switched to the mobil charger. Zip.

My dealer is about 70 miles away. The car is showing 97 miles of range. The GOM has been super unreliable since that software change back in Jan I think. So I don't trust I can make it to the dealer on my current SOC.

I'm assuming this is the HVBJB fix. I'm about to dive into the 140 page thread on it...... :)

I was only a matter of time, I presume. I didn't push the car hard at all today. I DID plug in right when I got home, but it's only L2 @ about 10Kw.

Any and all advice is most welcome. Maybe the dealer can fix my intermittent wipers in the extended time they have her. Looks like there isn't a loaner.

Thanks all.

Try this before you despair:

Try This First - Powertrain Malfunction / High-Voltage Battery Warning / Service Vehicle Soon While Charging

Well....last night, before I read this thread, I essentially did what it suggests a couple of times. All except the waiting 5/10 minutes. As it was late, I decided to tackle it again, this AM. When I went to do the procedure, I turned the car on and the SVS had cleared. So I decided to try to charge her. Plugged it in to the Ford Connect charger and all is working well.....for now.

I'm not sure at this point what the next steps should be though. Should I just proceed with biz as usual, or should I still make an appointment to have her looked at?

Thanks for all the advice. It helped keep me out of the trees last night.

fwiw…. I had this same exact problem like 8 weeks ago. Charging fault and orange lights on charge port and SVS warning. I unplugged as I was at work and 2 hours later the SVS had cleared. I drove it home and then to the dealer the next day. No SVS warning the following day when I drove to dealer. Dealer cleared the codes and said there was nothing wrong. I picked it up 2 days later.

2 weeks later I got the SVS, high voltage battery and power train warnings while passing a car on the hiway. And it’s been sitting at the dealer now for the last 3 weeks as my comments above detail…

so could you be in “pre-HVBJB failure mode”. Dunno. How many miles you have on it? I was at almost 13,500. Given my experience I would believe you are. Now is your dealer experienced enough to figure it out … mine wasn’t the first time. Food for thought. But to be safe my suggestion is take it in….

I had the same issue. Ford is aware of the Charging Fault. My Dealer said there should be an update by July '23 to fix. If you experience the fault again, unplug for 30 minutes, plug back in, and it should be resolved with no SVS message. This is not an imminent HVBJB failure.

Sorry you ended up having worse issues than just the charging fault. I've got just over 21K on her at the moment. I drove around town a bit this AM with no issues, including several stops. Then my wife took it about 50 miles this afternoon, also with multiple stops. No issues. Fingers crossed.

My dealer is 70 miles away, so I reserve trips there for when I'm sure I need them. We are pretty rural, so I'd guess the dealer hasn't sold more than 5 or 6 MME's. My trust in their knowledge level regarding the MME isn't very strong.

Hi Bruce! I can look into your Mach-E's charger concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Mach-E's VIN?

Unless that harness clip restrains one of the harnesses inside of the pack. ?‍♂?
