I have a '22 model and like BMT said, the buttons only show up after the app connects via bluetooth (and PAAK is set up).

I also just did the 7/8 button unlock after entering my door code and it worked like a charm. Nice that I don't necessarily have to open the door to pull the level if I don't want.

The biggest obstacle to using the frunk daily is CLOSING IT. While the F-150 opens and closes electronically, just like the trunk on the Mach-E, the frunk opens and closes manually. Opening is no big deal (with the button or even pulling the handle twice), but closing it for many is a challenge. My wife won't use it because she doesn't want to slam it, and she is worried about denting it if she pushed on it - plus she doesn't want to leave 2 handprints that I'll see...

I haven't played with the bumpers on the 2022 to adjust so it closes easier, but still, it's a pain.

We also have ours mostly full. Emergency blanket, jumper cables (when traveling), trim tools, 50 foot extension cord for 110v (when traveling), TeslaTap, fire extinguisher, and a bottle of V8. ;)
Couldn't agree more about closing the frunk. It is a challenge on my MME. The F150 electronic opening AND CLOSING is so sweet.

When will Mach e owners be able to open the frunk through the ford pass ? Anyone know
Spare a thought for us right hand drive cars in Scotland. We need to get our the car and go round to the passenger side, open the passenger door, before pulling the lever ?. A remote option would be welcome but I doubt it will ever happen over the pond and certainly not on the base spec car that I have. 1st world problems.

I use it every morning. Quite useful. Hit the button inside the house so the kids can load bags for school.

I locked the car and then unlocked it using the code on the door pillar. It unlocked fine and I then pressed the "7/8" button and nothing. I have a Job 1 car.

I wouldn’t say that, yet. The blue cruise updates are rolling now and after that really the only outstanding issue is the Frunk. If they hadn’t recently mentioned it coming via an OTA update I would be more worried.

I’m hoping once the Blue Cruise updates are mostly done they will push out a small update for the frunk. I’ve asked several times but no one seems to know what module actually controls the electronic release. We know they have added the app and sync buttons before in past updates, so all that should be necessary is the actual module that controls the release.
I’m surprised all the people with FDRS and Fordcan haven’t compared a job 1 to a job 2 and figured it out!
I actually wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be impossible for job 1 cars for some reason. Remember, they all have the dividers, which always felt like “we give up” to me.
