There are many reasons I bought the Mach-E. Looks, Ford-backed, tech, styling, Mustang elements, comfort, cargo capacity, price, tax credit, performance.
Pretty much what he said. I was really liked the performance of the new EVs, liked the look of the MME, and really did not want a Tesla that had limited service options when things go wrong and only has a center screen for everything, including the speedometer.

Hi! Lurker here and first time posting...

i was talking to some friends and we got into a debate on why do people buy their Mach E.. Is it because its Mustang? or is it because its an SUV? or is it Tech?

Help me end it..
The looks and the tech, but mostly the looks

Since "Tech, Price, Features compared to comparable high end luxury brand crossover, and EV made by an American manufacturer with countless decades experience" isn't an option I can't vote.

Cause we were looking to replace the BOLT, had to have SUV vehicle, tesla to long a wait, to expensive, to much other stuff surrounding it.. I was in the navy with a guy that got out and went to work at FORD as a test driver. He drove to our place in WA (he hates electric cars) said you have the car for 2 days, you, your wife and your dog get to decide...48 hours later. He helped us hunt down the exact model/color/options.

The MME won for a range of reasons

EVs drive better - so it wins over most ICE cars.
Build quality - panel gaps, etc. appear better put together than a Y
Ford - As things go wrong with any product, I expect Ford (and other legacy auto co's) to be able to sort it out better than start ups and more conveniently than Tesla. (if a window motor fails who is better able to fix it in a rural area)
Instrument Panel - I want speed and a few other things right in front of me
Tech - I like the PAAK, I like the door handles, I like the UX (I am looking forward to BC) I expected OTA to actually work
SW vs Hardware - I expect Ford to improve the SW over time, the hardware is what you get on day one. Ford HW is on balance better than Tesla. Tesla SW is the best. Ford has a long road here (BC for Job 1 is an example) but I expect it to improve
Value - All EV's seem expensive but the MME is a great value

All of the above.
The mustang name made me curious enough to look at it.
The SUV made it a practical vehicle for me so I could consider buying it.
The tech made it progressive enough that I could see myself driving it.
The drive meant I HAD TO HAVE ONE.
This. It's the only almost-affordable, all-electric, practical hatchback from an established vehicle manufacturer.

I love pony cars. The name and EV nature attracted me to it.

The looks didn't push me away. 😉

The tech is top-notch.

And the drive is incredible.

Here are selections you might want to add:

- It's a Ford

- It's EV

- It's unique

- Price was right
I ordered my MME in Feb 2021. At today’s price and potential loss of tax credit, it’s out of my affordability range. Luckily I made a quick decision.

All of the above. I learned to drive on my parents 65 mustang, so I've always had a soft spot for it, but have never owned my own. I even have a picture of me as a toddler in a little mustang pedal car. I drive kids around all the time at the local high school for events so I needed something that had 4 doors and also had some storage so I could carry instruments and other equipment. My current car only takes premium gas so I decided to go the complete opposite direction and go electric. I work in Tech so I'm pretty good with computers, but I didn't want something that was completely devoid of things that make it similar to cars of this age (e.g. the controls on the steering wheel). The Mach-e was the obvious choice for me.

For me, the MME (Premium SR RWD) was the best value post-rebates, credits and options. Plenty of range, tech and pizzaz for the price paid. Also considered Tesla MY, but longer wait & significantly more $$ and the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which wasn't available by E/2021.

Well, for me, I always wanted to own a Mustang, so I just went ahead and ordered one. Now I am shocked and dismayed to find out that other Mustang owners don’t think I bought a true Mustang because it doesn't have an engine and doesn’t look like a Mustang.
