I can confirm that the procedure found at the links DOES NOT WORK. I tried it at least 4 times with no luck. On the eighth time I pressed the Start Button for ON (foot NOT on brake) there was no response from the vehicle.

Next step, find a locksmith. After that it is back to the Dealership and beg forgiveness for buying a key from someone elese.
Dealer won’t care where u got the fob. I’ve done this in the past for a lost fob. They were happy to program the one I brought in that I did not buy from them.

Let me know who you find. I found one quote from non-dealer locksmith in Bay Area to be $140. Dealer may be $200...
I just a quote of $100.00 from The Ford Store in Morgan Hill CA to program my remote.

Wow, Great to know.. I'm getting $200 from a locksmith here in the city (which is the same as Serramonte, apparently).

Clearly one of us here needs to learn how to program a fob and then become a mobile programmer - money to be made...

Just paid my local dealer $100 to program my second FOB. They did use my FordPass points to lower it a little bit. $96 total.

Just got back from my appointment with the dealer this morning, and they were able to successfully program both of the fobs that I bought from car and truck remotes. They charged me $150 ?? plus tax for the programming of both fobs.

Glad I now have 3 fobs, one for the wife and I, and a spare in case one gets lost.

After that it is back to the Dealership and beg forgiveness for buying a key from someone else.
Just got mine yesterday and will be contacting my dealer today.

I will not be begging forgiveness for 1) Purchasing something that should have been included on a $60K car; and 2) For buying something that the dealer could not even quote me price and availability on.

I'll probably end up paying what they ask, but if it's north of $100, they will get some flak.

Just got back from the dealer and everything seems to work on my extra fob. They charged me $42.50. I haven't been brave enough to try that one out yet with no phone or the other key fob, might do that here in a few minutes. I don't know if I need to or can add a second key fob to my profile or not.

If Ford is listening:

They could build some goodwill here by having the dealer bill Ford directly for programming any fobs that those of us concerned about PAAK choose to purchase. Saves us $, dealer gets paid, Ford gets goodwill and mutes mouthy customers like me.

I called my dealer and had to make an appointment to bring it in tomorrow for programming. I had to explain that the key did not need to be cut. Price quoted is $65.

That would have been nice a month ago, but it's kinda gotten to the "too late" stage now. A lot of people have already ordered 2nd fobs on their own, and gotten them programmed already.

Not too late for me! (My plan is magnanimous enough to allow you a rebate, so you are good as well). :)

Took my carandtruckremotes fob to the dealer yesterday. I felt pretty good about the $69 they charged me to program it. Works like a dream. I’ve now unpaired my PAAK. While it worked, it seemed to be a little slow to recognize sometimes.
