I ended up buying a MME that was in stock (from a ordering mishap) as oppose to the one I have on order since there are so many delays and I needed a car asap. I too based my order on the NJ rebate parameters and kept my MSRP under the specified number. Luckily, I had a honest sales rep who found the certificate without me knowing it existed and before I saw this updated post. It is legit. I appreciated it and gladly accepted my rebate!
Double check if you qualify for the help from FORD......I'm no expert but I thought you had to order by 12-15-20 and take delivery by 3-15-21, NOW if you missed the March date because Ford had delays, then, under those circumstances, Ford was going to help out those people....... somewhere, someone quoted only 125 or so folks.......I thought that if you just bought "off the lot" you were not eligible for any incentive by the state or by Ford (there may be a chance for retroactive incentives after the program restarts this summer).......hopefully others here will add to what I said.......again, I'm no expert.......good luck

EDIT: so you did get the rebate from Ford already??......

Did you get the $5k approved from Ford on your purchase? Were there any restrictions/rules they mentioned?

I'm awaiting Options Financing paperwork from my Dealer as my car should arrive about 5/22. They said the $5k would apply. Trying to find out if it is point of sale reduction or if I have to wait for a check from Ford. Will update everyone when I get details.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned on a thread somewhere, but I noticed that the FAQs at the bottom of the Charge Up NJ web site have been updated: https://chargeup.njcleanenergy.com/

There is updated info on the previous rebate program, but really just providing clarity (finally) on what we already know.

Of interest to those who may be eligible for the new point-of-sale program, there are two somewhat conflicting FAQs:

Q: I ordered, purchased, or leased my vehicle between December 15, 2020 - Summer 2021. Will I be eligible for the point-of-sale incentive?
A: Due to a lack of funding, vehicles ordered, purchased, or leased after the deadline of December 15, 2020 and before the launch of the point-of sale program in Summer 2021 will not be eligible for an incentive.

and

Q: Which date will my purchase or lease agreement need to start on to be eligible for the point- of-sale program?
A: Vehicles purchased or leased on or after July 1, 2021 will be eligible for the point-of-sale incentive through participating dealerships. Please continue to check our website for further updates.

So, does this mean a purchase is not eligible if the car was ordered after Dec 15 but before Jul 1, even if the car is purchased after Jul 1? A Mach E order is not a purchase, so rule does not make sense.

The other FAQ says a purchase after Jul 1 is eligible. But, based on the first FAQ, is it not eligible if the car was ordered before Jul 1? So, do I let my order go and then immediately turn around and purchase it to comply with these conditions? Not clear, as usual.

The other concern in the wording is "participating" dealerships.

No, both statements are consistent - the first one is just stupidly worded. It only matters if you took possession of it before July 1st (leased or purchased). Worst case, just don't tell the state you ordered it.

Hope you're right. My car was built last week and is estimated to be delivered Jun 12 to 19. I've mentioned the state incentive starting Jul 1 to the dealer several times in e-mails but no response to that. Time for a visit to straighten out expectations.

hopefully, they, the dealer, will work with you to delay your "buying" of the car until the July 1 date, the best of luck to you......what dealer, if you don't mind?

Thanks for best wishes. I selected Ditschman Flemington Ford as the dealer when I ordered in Dec. Haven't heard much about them on the forum, but they've been good to work with so far (accept X-Plan, etc). Fullerton is a possibility, if I need to switch. I've heard lots of good things about them on here.

So if I'm buying my Mach E in NJ at the end of this month, I'm completely s*** out of luck on the incoming $5k?

Yes, unless you are buying the exact car that you ordered prior to dec 15 2020

I may be SOL too if I my car is delivered in mid-June and I can't get my dealer to hold on till July for purchase. It looks like July 1st is the date the new incentive will start according to the Charge Up NJ web site (don't know how much or other details yet).

Talk about getting screwed...

That Rapid Red sure does stand out doesn't it? Love that color folks, IB was my second choice.

It appears they have a FE RR for sale if anyone is looking.

At least this video clip gives you things to think about and how not to get screwed by the state.

"The Mustang Mach-E starts at just $42,895 and is eligible for a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit bringing the starting MSRP to just $35,395. Not to mention, since its zero emissions, the State of New Jersey announced that the Mustang Mach-E is sales tax exempt. On top of that, factor in potential state tax credits, annual maintenance savings and annual fuel savings, and the true value of a Mustang Mach-E keeps going up."

GO NJ!!!

What about the $5k from Ford that was supposed to make those that ordered before Dec 15, 2020 but complete the purchase before July 1st, 2021 whole? Anybody hear more info on that or see something more official on that?

What is the process to switch if there is a dealer I guess willing to accommodate you? How late can you switch?
