I have noticed that my car must que updates, all the successful updates have all happened when it is charging for more than two hours on a level 2 charger.
That could be. Used a hotel J-1772 on Monday night for >12 hours. I requested the download after I got home and plugged in again. The update was in FordPass very quickly. It could have downloaded Monday night and just installed after I got home and initiated the request. That sounds more reasonable since it finished within 15 minutes of plugging in on Tuesday.

Just got this update not too long ago and not terribly pleased... I had plugged in Scotty last night and was waiting for him to start charging at 10 pm according to my schedule. The app still says waiting to charge around 10:20; I go outside to see if it's just the app being dumb yet again and I have no blue charging lights on! I unplug the connector from the car, reconnect and charging started right away. The only thing that had changed from the last time I charged was this new update...anyone else run into this?
Assuming you have a level 2 charger, did your car charge after you plugged it back in (i.e. charge % increase and range increase)?

It could be just a coincidence but the last four updates happened shortly after I plugged in. One at a destination/hotel level 2 charger

Could be a coincidence, but I think it's plausible that they like to do updates when you are plugged into a slow charger. That way they don't need to worry about loss of 12v power. Plus if you plug into a slow charger, changes are you will be there for a bit. If I was trying to find an indicator of a good time to apply updates, I'd choose "recently plugged into level 1 or 2 charger".

Yep.
Same issue with my car after receiving the update.
Took a few days and then it started using the charge schedule again.

It will won't condition the battery when plugged in unless I let it fall asleep and then wake it up. I hope that issue resolves itself after another few days.

My car has been sitting at the dealership for 17 days, not plugged in as it will not charge. No charging activity for over two weeks. I received the notification this afternoon that the update was successful and I had received Ford Power-Up 1.6.0. First positive news (?) I've received in quite some time about the car!

I asked this in the FB group and few people there had the same issue. The one pedal drive braking isnt as quick as before after the update. I use to be able to drive without even touching the brake, but now it keeps coasting instead of coming to a stop. I also noticed today my drive didnt save in my journeys today.

Check some other factors to see if they may be causing your concern...

I use one pedal driving all the time. The amount of deceleration when I release my foot from the go pedal varies:

  • Less decel In Engage than Unbridled.
  • Less decel in Whisper than Engage.
  • Less decel while coasting back from a high speed to my set speed while adaptive cruise control is active. This is especially noticeable while in Whisper mode. It's a slow gradual coast from 78 (hypothetically, of course) to 72 (hypothetically).
    • I suppose this makes sense since the owners manual explains that 1PD is inactive while in cruise control.
Interestingly, I can get far greater deceleration (and nice control of the level of decel) while on ACC by very gently pressing the go pedal rather than by completely not pressing it at all.

I just got 1.6.0 this evening, my build date is May 2021.
I wish Ford was more descriptive with their release notes, I have no idea what this update is supposed to add.
I checked the interface and settings I’m the car and don’t see anything different.

I only use unbridled, one pedal with auto hold. This is mainly for getting around town to store etc. at stop signs, lights etc. where i need to come to a stop. (not hwy) Was very easy to let off pedal and come to a stop before the update. Now i need to hit the brake to stop since it seems to coast more now. I liked it better before.

I assume that the information in your (US) owners manual is the same as ours(UK) but it clearly says in ours that if your car is plugged in charging will stop during an update and then resume when the update is complete.

@D4rkt Thankfully my car did charge after plugging back in. I'm just glad I thought to check before going to sleep.

@portlandg I had received the update prior to plugging in the car which was unnerving enough since I really didn't get a notification that the car was updating or when the update occurred.

So this morning is the first time I have driven my Mach-E since getting the 1.6.0 OTA, and I am also seeing a noticeable reduction in regen breaking, even while in Unbridled and using 1-pedal driving. I don't know if this is due to Ford trying to address the issues with the regen failing that we have seen multiple times on this forum, but that is my guess.

The car is definitely coasting a lot more than it did in the past, which isn't something that I like. I want all the regen that I can get!

I also noticed a difference in the Advanced Cruise Control and Lane Keeping, it seems to be hugging the left lane a lot. Before it would center me in the lane nicely, but now it wants to hug the left lane marker for some reason. Has anyone else noticed this? I tried turning it off and on again but it didn't change the behaviour.
