Saturday 8/21/21 Update:
I have some fantastic initial driving videos / review including 0-60, but found my YouTube channel can't monetize and could take a month to be approved. What to do? If someone, site, or YouTube channel can help publish and share, we can talk. I have many videos already.

Delivered late afternoon today (Thurs, 8/19/21)...
2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

It came two weeks earlier than expected!

Some commentary after a day of work, few pics, and letting a few friends drive:
  • The dark grey color is lighter in the pictures than seeing in person, so I think it does look cooler in person.
  • I've let a couple other EV techies drive it today and they are exhilarated
  • Intense laughter when stomping on the go pedal
  • "Feel it in the gut."
  • Like a roller coaster and space shot
  • Tight control - great stability
  • Steering wheel feels fantastic, for a race car.
  • 15 minutes later: I can still feel that power in my gut!
  • Heavy sense of regeneration, ie. let go of pedal and can definitely feel it actively slowing down, not coasting. (probably not specific to the GT PE)
  • I have to adjust power response expectations in traffic - such as goosing it to pass - need to ensure I've already changed lanes before goosing it, otherwise intense acceleration sneaks up too fast to car in front.

Updated with complete specific timeline:
  1. November 2019 - Reservation
  2. May 1st, 2021 - Ordered
  3. End of June 2021 - notice of build date the week of July 18th
  4. July 18th - Aug 9th - Status was Building in progress
  5. August 10th - Status changed to shipping with estimated delivery Aug 31st - Sept 6th.
  6. August 12th - Estimated delivery improved by two days to Aug 29th - Sept 4th.
  7. Continued with that for about week, approximately. On PALSAPP, only appearing a Freight Bill number and pending.
  8. August 17th PALSAPP changed to dispatched, but no estimated delivery date.
  9. August 19th PALSAPP changed to delivered in late morning. I called the dealership and they confirmed.
  10. Vehicle was EXTREMELY dusty - probably dust collected from Mexico to Texas to Kansas City.
  11. Got feeling a few dealership employees got to drive / do the pre-deliver inspection, which is fine by me. Spread the fun.
  12. Finalized paperwork and left dealership by 5:45pm, clean as a whistle

Are you really not going to post any kind of drive review? No offense, but you are not going to get millions of clicks or anything. If you can afford a GT, surely you don't need the few hundred dollars you'll get from "monetizing" if you'd even get that much.
Um, well, I have a job, actually own two thriving and fast growing tech companies and my time is worth more than satisfying you, my friend.

I'm new to this and:
  1. Wanted to share what I reasonably could on the weekend for enthusiasts
  2. I realize I was very blessed and thankful to have apparently received delivery, or at least publicly proclaim, of the first 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition vehicle.
  3. Responding to questions up to the point I had to focus on my companies this week
  4. Took more video and some additional content at 4:30 - 5:00 in the morning a few times this week, haven't had time to polish and publish.
  5. It was brought up early by few commenters that there could be some big money in monetizing a review and more details on YouTube. I quickly explored it, my personal YT account doesn't qualify for monetization, got deflated a little, and subsequently realize that pure ad clicks probably won't amount to much anyhow. Would have to build a significant infrastructure like subscriptions, Patreon, etc. To me, that doesn't have a lot of ROI given my time
  6. but I will try to keep feeding the beast that is the Mach E and EV enthusiast, who mostly are great people but some, well, you know.
  7. I don't have comparisons to other models to make, just a layman's take, which I can be creative in sharing the excitement and thrill.
  8. I've allowed about 6 other people drive it, some on video to get their reactions.
  9. Stay tuned and please be patient.
  10. And for life of me, I can't figure out why people call me OP. I see there was a blue ribbon on my profile thumbnail with OP, but don't know what it means as my profile name is 0T60-3.5 ... ??? Anyone can answer that?
  11. Lastly, I haven't read through all comments, have any other GT PE been delivered, any other sharing of photos / thoughts, or reviews by now (Friday noon, Aug 27)?

Yes, I have... video is best and it's awesome. That's actually my first priority - maybe by tomorrow I'll release it. But the creator in my means I want to do it right, make a great first impression, to get some great oohs and ahhs.

@0t60-3.5 i think people either can’t remember or don’t bother looking at the name of the person who posted, thus the use of “OP” when referring to the original post’s source. Been seeing that on bulletin boards for 40+ years.

Oops. EDIT: Thanks for any time you have given us. It is not a requirement to do so. I know that if it had been me who had the first delivery I probably would have done a worse job in sharing.

I completely understand the time aspect, except for the fact that you literally edited your post to say you have reviews, videos, 0 to 60s, etc. but basically want to monetize it. So I'm not sure what your response really means? And then further saying you have 2 fast growing tech companies but need the very small extra cash from monetization also doesn't make any sense. We're just asking you to post all the stuff you've said you've already done and just get over the fact that you can't monetize it.

I don't think that's what he was saying at all.

He was looking into seeing if it was worth trying to get extra cash from it. It wasn't, so he's not trying. He hasn't had time to post vids and wants/needs to edit them before posting, again in his spare time.

Ok, I guess I don't understand. Seems like you wouldn't post saying that you have videos but realized you can't monetize it on your YouTube account so what should you do. You'd probably just say that you're busy and will post videos when you can, lol, but who knows.

I'd chalk it up to him not owing anything to anybody so his motivations for posting or not posting is his prerogative and if we get them great, and if not it's not our place to be critical of it.

How has no one asked about Blue Cruise. It's supposed to be active on the GTs.

  1. Is it really active?
  2. If so, what's it like?

Yes, it is active. I have tested a couple times on a short ~2 mile stretch when it turns available and I make an exit.

It prompts in the driver / steering wheel console screen to press the cruise control button on steering wheel, and the blue indicators are on that it's active.

There is a few gentle turns that it navigates well enough and keeps distance from cars ahead.

I immediately felt confidence in it. I was used to my 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum's lane keeping system with vibrating steering wheel feedback and onscreen warnings. It was always accurate, so leads me to trust the hands free driving assistance by the Mach E.

Thanks for the updates. I'm also in tech leadership and there are times where there just is no energy or availability outside of the job.

I've got a silver GT PE being built next week. And, I've been in Cedar Rapids in February. Are you planning on using this as a daily driver in the winter? If so, are you going to get winter tires/wheels? Being in the foothills of Colorado and has been my MO for the last 20 years. Putting Blizzaks on her Audi Q5 is transformational in the winter. I drove one winter here with summer tires, one arm in a sling and a stick shift. Too old for that now.

Looking forward to your videos and stories of enjoyment!
