Got to drive my dad’s 911 Turbo S. I think my GtPE might beat it for maybe half a second but get blown away after that. That thing is a beast. Totally different class than my current Premium.

hope to race him once my GTPE shows up even though I don’t stand a chance.

In a half second your dad’s Turbo S will put a full car on you if he uses launch control. 0-60 in 2.5 will do that…

Activate doesn't really mean anything from what I recall about my First Edition. It still sat a while after that showed up. The problem is that Ford doesn't seem to track when the chip shows up. If you call Ford they can see if it still says chip hold, or not, at any given time, but I don't think you can count 100% on any of the tracking info at this point. Basically it could just show up, or sit weeks and weeks. I'd say equal chances. I'd rather know, but doesn't seem to be in the cards. Frustrating.
Thanks Agoldman. I appreciate your feedback and you First Editions are way more familiar with the wait/process than I.

I did hear from my Dealership Rep yesterday (poor guy responded on a holiday weekend) and my Aug 11th built GT does not have its Chips yet. The Sept 20th date is probably not likely, however I live 20 mins north of Kansas City so it doesn’t have much further to travel once it’s ready and shipped from Mexico to KC.

Thanks again for your input!

Does anyone with a week of August 23 have an updated status? Mine still says scheduled to be built despite my dealer saying in his system that it's been built.

My dealer is checking the vvr tomorrow for me. Probably will on chip delay.

No delivery date either for mine - there was last week but it was removed.

same here. Delivery date was removed for my car. Shows "in production 8/28" on the status, and that's it.

My 8/9 build (sent to production 7/16) is still sitting with the ETA still rolling. They clearly aren't updating the ETA properly since mine says deliver in 18 days -- sure.. but hasn't budged from in production status, or received the coveted chips. basically I don't think much at all is moving until they get a substantial allotment, and then hand some over to the Mach E line, since the other models are in the same boat. Basically, unless they receive a windfall of chips soon, it's going to be a long wait. What would help us waiters , is some updates on the chips ETA to the Mach E line for instance!

in the meantime:
"Chip Shortage May Not Go Away Until 2023, Mercedes And BMW Execs Warn"

Volkswagen started delivering vehicles without audio systems in Brazil. Ford, Land Rover, Stellantis, General Motors, and others had to tweak their regular production schedule as a result of the chip deficit.

Where do you see the 8/28 production date?

On shop.ford.com, I can see
'Welcome! Your 2021 Mache GT is "In Production",'
but the date under "In Production" is blank. I'm just curious where I should look to find the date when it appears. Thanks

Mine is still stuck in production hell, perhaps chip hold if I had to guess... window sticker dates keep moving farther and farther... latest sticker has 9/7/2021 on the bottom and 08 27 21 in the special order box. Original sticker had 8/14/21 and 08 13 21 for those locations.

I know this thread is for build week of 8/23, but just for your reference I'll share my info on my GT order with a build week of 8/16. The production date came in at 2021-08-19 with an etaEndDate 2021-10-05. A few days later I saw the etaStartDate populate with 2021-09-29 which I now understand means the car is estimated to arrive at the dealer between those two dates. It could have populated when the etaEndDate did and I just missed it - not sure on that.

I guess the most useful information I can share is that none of this has changed from the original values so far, so if you're a week behind me then you probably won't see any good news for at least a week, but who knows? The whole process does seem annoyingly random.
I had the same 8-16 build week, was notified on 8-21 that it was "in production", with an ETA of 10-2. This week, the ETA changed to 1-1-1990! Ford Marketing told me that "that's a software error...it means that there's a chip shortage". Currently, Ford is telling the dealer to expect delivery Oct. 24-31, 2021. I'll believe it when I see it...

That space is where it usually appears, but try this tracker:

4X here, but ours that was sched. for week of 8/23 says in prod. 8/30 and that’s it. Delivery date to dealer switched from NA to 10/17, then 10/31, then NA again. So, chips ahoy! I’m expecting it around Thanksgiving I suppose. Nice time of year to get it so whatever.

At this point, as long as it comes before calendar year 2021 is up and tax advantage waits a whole year more. Then again, the 21 model year production hasn't long to go either.
