E Heat Question

So I found the e heat button today and it seems that if e heat is turned off the air coming out of vents is just cold. Am I missing something? I know Mach e does not have heat pump but just want to be sure I’m not missing something.

Nope, you're not missing anything. If you turn off e-heat, you won't get any heat.

With out e-heat. There is no heat. There is only Zuul.

In this case E heat means electric heat and not emergency heat or secondary heat that it usually means in the hvac world.

It's kind of like the old Batman show - Bat Shield, Bat Copter, Bat Shark Repellent, etc. The heat controls in the Batmobile were labeled "Bat Heat."

When E-Heat is on, an electric heater is used to warm the cabin and keep the windows from fogging. Turning E-Heat off saves battery power, which extends your driving range. The electric heater is the only source of heat to warm the cabin.

Cabin and battery share a loop, but lithium batteries don't generate much heat unless they are charging. While driving E-heat is the only source of heat.

The motor, inverter and electronic units generate heat. But not sure if that would have or has any noticeable impact on cabin heating.

I've had this car six months I didn't notice the E-heat button til I read this, I've just always used the auto mode.

Just keep doing that and you'll be fine. I'm amazed at the number of people that manually turn off e-heat and then complain that they get no heat. That's like turning off your TV and then complaining that you can't see your show anymore.

From the manual it says if you want to cool your cabin, set to Auto. If you want to heat your cabin , set to Auto. Both EHeat and AC comes on to do what it needs to do and hasnt failed me yet.
